I heard it was being made into a movie. When I saw the trailer for Daybreakers, I thought they changed the title and used hordes of vampires instead of zombies. As for the premise itself, it does sound closer to the Matheson source material than the recent film version of I Am Legend, and while there may be a tip of the hat to Matheson, I don't think it's a copycat by any means.
