Very very sad news comes out today that actor David Carradine has passed away. CNN reports:

American actor David Carradine has been found dead in a Bangkok, Thailand, hotel, according to his personal manager, Chuck Binder. David Carradine became famous in the 1970s after starring in the television series “Kung Fu.” Binder said Thursday that the death is being investigated but could provide no other details.

I’ll always think of David in Kill Bill. Man this sucks.

  1. Damn, this sucks. The man was a legend. He was so damn cool as Bill in the Kill Bill movies and the Kung Fu series is still on of the best TV shows to date. I’ll never forget how excited I got when I heard his voice at the end of the first Kill Bill for the first time and was so glad to see him return to film.

RIP Mr. Carradine, you will be mist by many alike…

  2. Some say he was tied up from other parts of the body, maybe it was a sex game gone wrong.

Also read that sometime ago he was suicidal and slept with a gun in his pillow who knows?

    1. I read that too. looks like he pulled a michael hutchence with a little autoerotic asphyxiation. the door was locked from the inside and his neck wasn’t the only thing that was tied with curtain cord.

    2. So you keep saying, Iknew.

It should be pointed out that the late INXS frontman’s death was also labeled a suicide. But considering exactly where they found Carradine and not how, I’d say that there might be something to foul play, and someone staging the act post mortem.

      “Door was locked from inside”
When most people leave a hotel room, the last thing one wants to do is forget the hotel room card-pass. Once you leave the room, the door will automatically lock. If anyone who was in the room, they could have left within 24 hours of the actor’s passing. If this was “accidental” by AE asphyxiation, he would have HAD to have another person in that room anyway.

Point is, they found him in a closet. Why there? Why not on the floor in another part of the room?

I do wish the media would have shown some bit of discretion. Do we really need to hear every sordid detail?
Does it serve a higher good?

      No, it does not.

      1. Hotel rooms do lock automatically as you leave, but I imagine specifying that it was locked from the inside, that he was using the chain or latch lock that most hotels have inside (thereby preventing housekeeping from accidentally walking in on you) and that they found him in the closet may just suggest his intention to succeed. If he was passed out but not yet dead and someone found him he could have been saved. But hiding in the closet then committing the act would ensure he carried out his plan to term.

You know the media will say anything and everything about any situation. They dont care if you wanted to hear every detail, but they will share it anyways just in case. “Good” is never the intention of news sources telling a story. There is a story, and no one wants to be the news source that left details out.

  3. For the life of me, I simply do not understand as to why a guy such as David Carradine would hang himself….My mother suggested he may’ve recently found out he had a terminal condition, but I STRONGLY doubt it.

    RIP “Bill”!

  4. there are some suggestions of a Michael Hutchence style occurance with this. It would be perverse and embarrassing but easier to accept than suicide.

  5. um idk what to say…he had to have some demons cause basically he comitted suicide without any one in the family bieng aware of his mind’s state .

sucks cause from what i heard this guys was really a pleasure to be around…. and i do agree something about this is super fishy…but to speculate it was thai gangs etc just goes to show that you like to jump the gun and assume….maybe he was just suicidal or did some bad drugs.

  6. I smell foul play, why would such an iconic man kill himself? He was beloved by so many, all I can say is….

RIP Grasshopper, I’ll remember you always!

    1. Foul play for sure, lots of thai gangs fake suicides on their victims, usually buy throwing them off a roof.

Either way, he was up to something if this was his fate.

    2. right now it looks like he pulled a michael hutchence-autoerotic asphyxiation. the door was locked from the inside and his neck wasn’t the only thing that was tied.

  7. In his memory, I’m gonna dig through my dvd collection and watch two of his movies back to back tonight. I’m thinking boxcar bertha and kill bill vol.2 (since he was in vol.2 more). Man this sucks :-(

  8. To quote:
“Whenever someone dies, I always feel like it’s such a waste that I didn’t know them any better.”
Goodbye, Bill. You will be missed.
    This sucks.

  9. “I’ll always think of David in Kill Bill.”

Yup, that’s who he is to me and to so many younger people not familiar with his early work. I’m glad his career got that kind of revival because it ensures he won’t be forgotten.

  10. RIP to one of the Greats, David Carradine was hard man. The man was underrated. May his soul rest, I’m sure if he had to pick where to die, In Eastern Asia would had been his top 3. The man respected the culture out there.
And in his Memory I’m watching Lone Wolf McQuade, I still think he made that movie not Chuck

  11. Jesus bloody christ , how many of those stars are going to die this year. This is bullshit , lay of those dame pills and only make movies.

    1. it wasn’t pills, right now it looks like he pulled a michael hutchence-autoerotic asphyxiation. the door was locked from the inside and his neck wasn’t the only thing that was tied.

  12. Terribly sad news. I grew up watching him in Kung Fu as a kid, it was one of the few shows we as a family would gather around to watch every week. My condolences to his family and friends.

  13. I hear a rumour that he was found in a rather uncompromising position… An unfortunate way to leave a wife and 4 kids. At least we have his legacy in Kung Fu and Kill Bill. RIP Carradine-san!

  14. WOW u see guys/legends like David in recent films like kill bill an believe they can live forever, but its very sad when news like this is reported.RIP.there will never be another guy to fill the great wise old man characters like Carradine.

    1. I agree… hope those alleged details are false as well. He will always be the Kung Fu guy to me, and one of the awesome racers in Death Race 2000. Remember watching the rerun of the old Kung Fu show in the 80’s with my dad, and the Legend Continues in the 90s.
