I totaly agree. However, I think that Wild Wild West had better performances. I don't get why everyone is so excited about this movie. If you look past the fancy editing and explosions there isn't much there. I think it looks completely hokey and silly. RDJ comes off as flat, a huge disappointment. This could be a great movie, but RDJ was definitely miscast. The only thing that might save this movie is Jude Law. Although I wouldn't consider that to be an impartial comment. In my opinion all Jude has to do to deliver a stellar performance is smile.

First of all, I'm not sure there's any proof from the trailer that we've got magic in this one. (The girl floating upwards could have just been an rewinding time sort of shot.)

Second, I can't say they're necessarily changing Holmes' personality from the trailer either. Downey Jr. can play any personality he wants to, so I think he'll get Holmes' brisk, logical, humorous personality down. In the books, Haole, Holmes did fall for one woman actually, partly because she was the only person he'd ever met who was ever able to outwit him - the character McAdams is playing.

And third, as a fanatical Sherlock Holmes fan, (I enjoyed the Basil Rathbone films. Thought the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes was by far the best ever done so far. And HATED 'Young Sherlock Holmes', HATED Rupert Everett's attempt to be Holmes, and HATED James D'Arcy's attempt to be Holmes.) - I think that this new Guy Ritchie's/Robert Downey Jr.'s Sherlock Holmes looks absolutely awesome.

The only thing good about this trailer is Rachel McAdams. She is smokin'!

This looks fantastic. I'm really excited to see this. I hope this becomes a blockbuster success. That way, he'll get more freedom to maybe continue the rocknrolla story a little more.

Looks great (despite the fact that it's a literary disgrace, but when did that ever stop Hollywood?) Explosions, oversized hammers, Rachel McAdams... seems like New Holmes has got it all.

I wasn't expecting Downey Jr.'s Gandalf impression, either.

I wasn't sold either way. Looks fun and witty, but also plenty of room to fall flat on its face. Is that some sort of vampire plot?
