Getting Closer to Vin Diesel in xXx 3:The Return of Xander Cage

If you make a Vin Deisel film, you can’t sequel it without Vin Diesel. Despite his shakey career and poor movie choices, it seems the only salvation left for Vin would be the franchises that made him popular. Every Diesel flick to sequel without him has been a flop, and if there is one thing for sure, the fans WANT to like Vin.
So he returns to Fast and Furious? Good move. Another Chronicles of Riddick? Yes please. How about xXx? Why not.
Afew months ago, a new xXx movie was announced, with Vin Diesel attached to star. I do find it humorous that Diesel had three potential franchises on his hands on chose to focus on the Riddick movies. Now he’s back with all three.Collider talked screenwriter Michael Ferris about xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, who brought up Rob Cohen’s name without a hint of embarrassment:
“We’re actually delivering a draft next week. So far the studio seems very enthusiastic about it. Rob Cohen is really excited. I think Vin Diesel is tentatively committed pending script approval. With any luck at all, we’ll get a green light in the immediate future and have something by next year.”
I think this is a good move for Vin. Some people are criticizing him saying he can’t do anything new and is falling back on his hit franchises. But I think this is a wise move for him.
See with any celebrity their careers are carefully and strategically planned. He gets a few hits under his belt and he can write his own ticket and set his own path. But once he got away from those action hits, his career seemed to evaporate? So is he falling back? Not at all. He is rebuilding. If sports teams can use the strategy then why not movie stars?
I like Vin Diesel flicks, but I have to admit some of his recent efforts outside his trinity of hits have stunk it up pretty badly. This is a solid move for him and I hope that while he returns to deliever more movies we loved him for, that he stays the course and becomes the action star I knew he would always be.
Just no more kiddie flicks kay?

I liked the first “XXX” and the second was awful, but I hope they make up a good reason as to why Xander Cage returns.
Both XxX movies are guilty pleasures of mine, so I can’t wait for this one.
dude… the pacifier was awesome
AHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
I liked him in boiler room and find me guilty. The first xxx was OK… didn’t see the second.
Didn’t they kill off xander cage in one of the first lines in XXX: State of the Union?
Something like… “he was killed last night in…”
Yeah, Thats why I hope they give a good reason for his return
Not only that, but if you watch the DVD special features, there’s a whole sequence dedicated to showing HOW he died…and how part of his bloody fucking skull with the XXX tattoo comes flying out of an exploding building!
LOOKIT!

I loved the 1st triple X.and am too one of the people who wasn’t very fond of state of the union.but a 3rd with xander cage back i think will be good as long as his explained death/disappearance
is well written about, not a quick, his heartbeat ceased for a second leading to presume he died in bora bora.
I can hardly wait.
Well, at least we won’t see Ice Cube again. Count our blessings.
Actually I would have liked to see Vin beat the shit out of Ice Cube for whatever reason.
“2 Fast 2 Furious” didn’t flop, it made something like $230 million worldwide, that’s more than the first in the series made, I think. It sucked real bad, but definately didn’t flop.
…also, NO please, from me, for another “Chronicles of Riddick”.
bring on more Chronicles of Riddick!
will there be a sequel to the pacifier?
He needs to just do Riddick. That Character is the best thing he does.
I agree.
I loved XXX 2 , it was so bad that i became good and i loved the villian part of Willem Dafoe, the guy is born to play a villain.
I really liked Chronicles of Riddick. I hope to see more of it.
more Chronicles of Riddick please!
every vin movie is a guilty pleasure of mine. the gravelly voice, mandatory italian tuxedo shirts (tank tops) and intense eyebrows are only seconds, thirds and fourths next to his acting ability. why does he get such poor reviews? maybe he should fire his agent and get on with arnold’s. he’s probably got some free time…;-)
They’ll have a “clone” play him. It would be a strech but they apparently have a bunch of high tech to waste.
i thought he died in the second movie?
