Cliffhanger was a pretty great movie, another good Stallone flick. Why reboot it? Leave the classics alone, it’s a prefectly good movie and people liked it. What they’re going to do is most likely replace the cast with a bunch of no name actors and just do a cheesy redo. This movie isn’t like Star Trek its not an on going series. People just don’t know what to do with money these days. Are they going to make a trilogy? Cliffhanger, Cliffhanger 2 The Canyons, Cliffhanger 3 Requiem LMAO

Cause it’s Sly Stallone kicking ass in all it’s cheesy 90′s action movie silliness!

I remember they made a movie a couple of years ago, I forgot the name, where a group of kids who happen to x-treme snow athletes have to stop a terrorist plot in the mountains, now that sucked MAJOR balls!

Never seen the original before, but of course it is being remade. Why not, that’s all Hollywood does nowadays remake old films :rolleyes:

I prefer Ace Ventura 2′s opening scene with the raccoon to Cliffhangers. Much more depressing and WTF. Cliffhanger was one of those movies I used to watch with the my father a lot. He loved that movie, so it is a classic to me. That said, I don’t mind a “REMAKE” as long as it is fun.

i really liked cliffhanger, but personally i don’t think it needs a reboot. they should focus more on cobra or better yet over the top!

What is most memorable about Cliffhanger is that it is not only one of Renny Harlin’s better pictures, it is those two opening setups. The “death” which will set up character conflict and/or challenge and the heist. Then later on, the bad guys, led by John Lithgow, knock of Papa Walton Ric Waite and have made themselves that much more despicable.

I will always love Janine Turner.

A sequel to this has been talked about for years, one even written but never made. It is too soon for a remake, and, from the sound of it, sounds like it would be either better off as a sequel in name only, or a direct sequel.

Follow the group of young climbers. Be my guest. The guide could be Sly, Mike Rooker, Janine Turner. Take your pick. But consider: Sly has revisited Rocky, revisited Rambo. Is it too much to ask…?
