In response to an earlier post, what exactly is a vampire supposed to look like or act like. I feel like that is a generalization that stereotypes the so called “other”. People have a certain idea of what vampires should look/act like, but that like saying all gay men should have good style. That previous post reinforced that vampires are not defined by vampire-ness, but are usually limited by it. Also, werewolves do not exist, so how could they possibly mess it up?

I don’t know if it’s a sign that I’m getting older, but I find it strange that so many people are digging the Twilight novels and movie. Even friends and family who I’ve always agreed with when it comes to movies are completely baffling me with their devotion. Remarks like “it’s just really good” and “I can’t get enough” are pretty standard. “Ohh, Edward’s so dreamy” until he pukes up his food after dinner and eats your face instead. Man it’s so lame. Skip this turd.

Well then your only “good reason” was that its not your preference.

You already stated that this was aimed at someone who is not you, but despite it being marketed to tweens, it seems to have found a far more broad audience.

There is a far cry of difference between something that just isn’t for you and something that is just bad. You didn’t like Twilight. You didn’t want to.

Lots of people do. It surprised me but I was willing to give it a chance.

Ok well I’m going to bash it for a good reason. The movie really sucked. It was just bad. It was made for tween girls, and I’m sure they all really like it. I’ll be the first to admit that the movie does have an audience, and the Twilight franchise is a license to print money, but I didn’t enjoy it. It was just a huge disappointment. And the funny thing about Twilight is I can’t exactly put into words what made the movie go from allright to terrible. It was probably around the part where Edward glistened in the sunlight. Man that was stupid.
