Bane Focused Batman: Arkham Asylum Video

There is something unique about the Batman character and mythology that lends itself to a ton of different story telling mediums… even interactive story telling mediums. It doesn’t hurt that Batman is also ludicrously popular at the moment thanks to half a billion box office draw this past year.

In case you haven’t heard about it, there is a very promising looking Batman video game on its way that has the fanboys experiencing viagra like symptoms… and for good reason because the game does look pretty freaking sweet. Now there is another video from the game out that comes to us via our friends over at InContention

  1. Why on Bane’s profile does it say he’s between 5 feet 6 and 6 feet 8? Isn’t he already built? Looks a hell of a lot like Schumacers Babe to me.

  2. Looks and acts just like Joel Schumacer’s Bane. “Cut. Me. Down.” Sounds like an oversize moron. Where is the intelligent, bounty hunter Bane?

  3. Just wanted to add… the “real” Bane is my favorite villain. This is the character from the “Knightfall” storyline. He is an educated and diabolical criminal, not Frankenstein’s monster. He’s also not an anorexic imp who suddenly balloons into a hulking giant from the drugs injected into him. He is already physically well built and powerful before taking the venom drug that simply increases his strength.

Don’t want to get too off topic here, but since Bane is one of my favorite characters, just thought I needed to add some true background for anyone who sees this new Batman video game and doesn’t already know the real story of Bane.

  4. Ok, I’m not really a video game addict, but am a huge fan of the Batman. And my favorite villain (besides the Joker) is Bane. The “Knightfall” story has always been one of my favorites. I would love to see Bane make it to the next Batman movie.

By the way, this video game does look awesome.

  5. This year looks great for Superhero style games, you got Batman: Arkham Asylum, Prototype, Infamous, not to mention DC Universe Online and Champions online as well, great year to be a gamer!!!!!!!!

  6. Yea for those that havent been keeping an eye on this game…well they should. Its getting alotta hype. This could be the best batman game ever. My only concern is the game will not have great replay value or the story will be terrible but cant know that till the game comes out. I love Bane and I would like to see him in the next movie hunting batman. As for the game… I love he is in in but others worry they will stick to the big dumb Bane then the Bane from the Knightfall books

    1. Grave i totally understand how you feel, because past batman games have been, well lets just say, less than stellar, but the script is bein written by paul dini who co wrote or just wrote the animated series, im not sure, so theres a pretty good chance that this one will be knocked out of the park. as for replay value, im sure there will be plenty of unlockables for this game so the replayablilty is there for me. but i do agree that there is a chance that this good bomb but from what ive seen i doubt it.

    2. My rule of thumb on games or movies is to set up for disappointment because in the end if something is terrible then you saw it coming. but if you get your hopes up and something is crap then your pissed and you’ll be online bitching for weeks about how you were suckered to believing its good.

  7. John there are only 2 games this summer that have got me pumped, Ghostbusters, and this, i have been keeping track of this one for a while now and its really shaping up to be one of the biggest titles of the year. It’s also known that Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil who voiced Batman and The Joker in the animated series are going to reprise they’re roles for this game. I cant wait for this title to come out.
