Superhero Short Film Nemesis Online

I found this great little short online thanks to Cinematical and despite my opposition to movies you have to read (subtitles) I really enjoyed this.
Nemesis follows a guy named Arne who, ever since he was a young boy, has been convinced he has super powers. However, since he hasn’t been able to discover his super powers, Arne decides to put an ad out for an archnemesis in the hopes this person will help unveil his secret abilities.
I like how for a brief moment you see Arne watching Heroes on TV, which is fitting considering the parallels in his short as well as Hiro’s dedication to the comic book ideals of a superhero.
Really great short!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
No really that was pretty good, suprisingly!
“despite my opposition to movies you have to read (subtitles)”
That’s a pretty ignorant statement, especially from a proclaimed movie fan. So you don’t like watching foreign movies in their original language? If so then you’re missing out.
As for the short, it was alright.
It is pretty ignorant to assume that because I don’t like to be distracted from the visuals on the screen to read every bit of dialogue that I am somehow ignorant.
Sorry if you have some sort of magical ability to understand the language, while I have to read the text.
Its distracting, and not they way I prefer to watch a movie. One day maybe I will be perfect like you.
each to their own rodney, i cant stand it when foreign films are dubbed
And that is fine too. I find most dubbed stuff (unless its animated) to be distracting too.
rodney
i agree, if its animated it wont make a big deal to me whether its dubbed or subbed, but i would still rather watch it subbed
Maybe. If you try hard enough.
Reading isn’t hard so you should be all right.
I didnt say that I CANT watch a movie with subs, just that I prefer not to.
Get over yourself.
I agree. You’re cheating yourself by not learning how to watch movies with subtitles. I hardly notice them once the movie gets going.
“Learing how” Again you presume that I cannot do it. Please stop making assumptions about my ability with your condescending comments.
I know how. Just like I know how to eat Carrots. I dont PREFER IT.
Get it yet, or are you to busy inflating your elitist ego trying to teach us illiterate gutter pigs how to properly enjoy film.
For somebody who views himself as a movie fan, writes for a movie website and then excludes a huge portion of cinema because he doesn’t want to be bothered with reading subtitles is ignorant and on top of that undermines his credibility as a writer.
This is the reason great foreign films get shitty US remakes. So when and if he complains about another remake of a foreign film he can only blame himself. But that’s not likely to happen cause he probably didn’t watch the original since it was subtitled.
Sorry if this seems harsh but this issue is a pet peeve of mine.
Hey I also exclude a huge portion of cinema because I don’t want to be bothered with reality idiots kicking each other in the crotch, or spoof movies.
And yes, you are being harsh and this is YOUR problem, not mine. It undermines your own credibility when you blindly accuse me of being “unable to read” or that I “exclude”
Its just a preference, and I don’t watch films just so I can act all high and mighty knowing more than you do about movies of each and every genre or culture, but if something interests me, I will watch it.
I never said I would NEVER watch them, and I have never said I CANT watch them. Also your problem.
I don’t prefer them. I also don’t prefer Carrot Top’s style of humour. But if you like him then I am ignorant and undermine my ability to write on a movie site because I then exclude everything with him. or like him in it?? Bullshit.
I don’t complain about remakes of foreign films. A remake is a remake regardless of the source material. If I feel that something was lost in the remaking of the film (regardless of language) then I will call them on that and state my OPINION about it.
Many J-Horror films fail by making a Hollywood remake because they remove what made them terrifying in the first place. But a lot of that is because of cultural differences they attempt to overcome, an inadvertently miss the point in doing so.
Thats what movie buffs do, including those that make a living writing for a movie website.
LOL, that was great. The first half was the best part, funny as hell, but still pretty good over all. The silly animations at the end were good too. Thanks for posting it.
If you guys are done rehashing the same issue over and over again, you might want to know the link is no longer working. :( Too bad, I wanted to watch it.
