Jeff Goldblum joins The Baster

With a bizarre title like “The Baster” making reference to artificial insemination, I am already curious about this comedy. Then to find out it has Jason Bateman in it, well that gives it a few points. The icing on the cake is that Jeff Goldblum will sprout from relative obscurity to play Bateman’s wingman and confidant business parter.

Coming Soon says:

Directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, the story follows a man (Bateman) whose female best friend (Aniston) plans to become pregnant with artificial insemination, but he replaces the preferred sample with his own. Seven years later, she returns to New York with her son, and he is forced to live with the secret that he is the child’s real father.

Goldblum will get to exercise his comedy chops by playing Bateman’s business partner and confidant, whose idea of working out is walking slowly on the treadmill while eating a candy bar.

I have ALWAYS loved Jeff Goldblum and Bateman is really making a place for himself in these underrated comedies. I am just wondering when this guy will finally be as big as he deserves.

Anniston can surprise me occasionally but for the most part she is just a pretty face to add to a comedy.

Its all about Bateman and Blum. I can’t wait to see these two play off against each other.

Looks like a great idea for what could potentially be a refreshing comedy. I’ll certainly be looking forward to it. I really like the guy, too.

Can somebody tell me why Jason Bateman is so appealing? I first saw him in Hancock, but didn’t really leave an impression on me.

For some reason he’s too magoo to me.

  6. This movie sounds like an odd mix of actors…

Goldbum where did he go… must have got left behind in the 80′s.. I like him, top actor and strangely can play a convincing leading man.
Its good to see him back.. then again he has probably been doing some fine work since the 80′s,

Might have to IMDB him and see what he’s been up to
