Patrick King signs on for Sex and the City 2

Sex and the City was a TV phenomenon proving you could take the awkwardly non-pretty Sarah Jessica Parker and make her hot just with a wardrobe and a posh lifestyle. After the show ran its course, the teething masses of estrogen shifted reality causing a feature film to take place. The phrase “Chick Flick” had reached a new level.

Now Patrick King has finally closed the deal and is now attached to bring us Sex and the City 2: Electric Boogaloo

MovieWeb says:

Sex and the City: The Movie writer-director Michael Patrick King has also finalized his deal with New Line to return as writer-director as well. There has been no start-date set as of yet, but it was said that they might be aiming for a 2010 release.

Plot details weren’t revealed, but Patrick King had said earlier that he would change up the tone and introduce some surprises if a sequel were to go forward.pix23812

Surprises? And changing the tone? That could work.

Carrie and her entourage of promiscuous tarts are out on the town wearing outfits that cost more than my car when they are abducted by terrorists! Once in the prison camp they are taught martial arts by a fellow captive in return for sexual favours and combine their efforts to break out Rambo style!!!

Now that’s a movie I want to see.
