First Look at Wheelie Toy from Transformers Revenge of the Fallen

Toys are the least reliable “source” for information about the movie, but while talking about the first peek we get of The Fallen, /Film also picked up on a new image of Wheelie.

One of the other Transformers featured in the film (we’ve reported on him in the past) is a little remote controlled monster truck that Sam and friends use to get into tight sports. TF08 also scored the first photo, from the packaging of the toy, of Wheelie in Autobot robot mode.

I like the idea that mass means something in the movies. No longer will a pistol transform into the Autobot menace and leader of the Decepticons, and no more tape decks and ghettoblasters changing into towering robots.

I am puzzled about the special feature on the packaging that says “Switches from Decepticon to Autobot” there and hope its a toy gimmick and not plot. If there is a double agent in the mix, I hope its not Wheelie. But also cool is the power grid that was iconic to the original toy boxes of the 80s. I had a file collection of those cutout cards for every toy I owned.

I am also releived that if they are involving Wheelie, that he would be adapted to a useable bot with some sort of purpose. Perhaps we will get some small scale asskickery with Frenzy on the 3 apples high division. I can only hope that they make Wheelie voiceless like Frenzy was instead of his childish speaking in rhyme he did all the time.

Dammit. Even thinking about the animated Wheelie has me rhyming.

Says on the packaging that Wheelie works for the decpticons because his small and weak and he knows no better so i assume they bully him into working for them, then he meets the Autobots and changes side.

Really hard to judge the character in context of the film based on toy packaging, the designs all right but nothing special (is that Johnny 5′s head!?) but i will say i hated Wheelie from the cartoons so if he is in the new movie i hope his far away removed from the cartoon Wheelie as possible.

Forgot to mention this but doesn’t the mass issue go out the window once that big ass allspark shrinks down to a size that Sam can carry and Frenzy’s head shifting into a phone I mean where does all that mass go?

    • Rodney says:

The Allspark is the power of all Transformer life. It can be whatever it wants to be. Its basically god to transformers.

I can forgive the Rubik’s cube of physical defiance. It grants life.

I agree toys are an unreliable source, I remember that blurry two face figure pic that didnt look much like the movie one. The only time I remember toys being accurate info is when we saw that crystal skull replica from korea or somewhere. Doesnt look bad this Wheelie, and usually the toy is far worse than the character, movie Megatron’s was awful.

  4. Slushie Man says:

They CAN be unreliable, not not always. I know for 100% fact that this is reliable, as there have been fan pictures taken with cell phones and such, of Wheelie on-set, LONG before the toy pictures of him start coming out. Actually, one of the very first scenes filmed when shooting first started, involved Wheelie and three were pictures snapped by fans of him.

    @ Rodney

Yeah i see ya point in terms of the movie (i say movie because i understand cartoon/comic cannon is much different) mythology it is god and as such can do as it likes.

  6. michael says:

    wheelie = jar jar binks

    meaning, bad…………………….

  7. Gigan300 is back!!!!! says:

reminds me of wall-e when i look at his face

  8. Phil Gee says:

Short Circuit 3; I knew we’d get it eventually.

  9. The Jim Walker says:

Wheelie say make friends today! Grimlock say we on our way!

  10. King Jonny says:

To be completely honest, this version of Wheelie looks like WALL-E on steroids.

  11. Tim says:

Wheelie? Don’t they mean Wall-E? That who he looks like more than anything else. Though hopefully less annoying than the cartoon version talking in rhymes all the time. Wish Grimlock did stomp him flat. lol.

    • Gigan300 is back!!!!! says:

remember when ironhide wanted to shoot sam’s parents b/c they were irritating in the first film, maybe that same thing will happen but he actually shoots wheelie.

As much as I hate and despise Wheelie, all I can say is at least its not Blur ;)
