Think about it. He is not an actor.

Do you really want a guy who cannot act to carry this whole film because he would look good in a photograph in the costume?

I personally think even though he is a little older than they wanted, Triple H is the perfect candidate for thor. I mean he has flowing blonde hair, he is huge, and he carries a sledge hammer, so yeah, think about it.

I agree with the inability to easily find an actor according to Wing. He wants a 6 foot 5 actor from Scandinavia, but what are the chances of finding someone any good from there, who can actually meet all the needs? At least your 6 foot 4 guy seems to be able to act. I have never seen that show true blood, but I did see generation kill and he was the best in it, imo. You are right Aco, we need to find someone to match up to the other good actors already in place.

That isn't to say that Wing isn't closer on height. I mean they want 6 feet or taller, Aco says his 6 foot 4 guy works, and Wing wants 6 foot 5 or taller. I read that Thor is 6 foot 6. Obviously they aren't going to match the weight, but at least we should get close in height. I say make Thor at least 6 foot 3. The rest can be made up with boots or angles.

I have 2 actors that would fit Thor's boots. He may be to old, but WWE star HHH has the look, & the Rohan son from LOTR Karl Urban. I sure hope that whomever does casting has the best pick of us all, or it will be a flop.

I said who can act. You try over there and you are going to end up with a very limited amount of talent. In fact, the list is just as limited over here. How many actors 6'4'' or taller even have shown the least bit of talent?

I also included other things that you left out. Including the ability to speak english like an American (Important for American box office). He is also actively working over here, so good luck importing someone on an American casting call.

Your idea to cast some unknown from Scandanavia obviously fell on deaf ears. Forgive me for pointing out someone who fits your criteria. Obviously you would rather go with someone unproven... I say watch Generation Kill, he was great in that. Then think about the fact that he fits the part perfect and that very few people do. You will end up with small people, wrong origins, people who can't act, and so forth.

They obviously aren't going in the direction of casting someone with a lot of known talent to play the role. That leaves it up to smaller guys. It is easy to sit in your high horse and just say go randomly pick someone off the streets to play this role. At least I actually found someone that is perfect for it. I look forward to hearing your choice.

By the way. I knew when I posted that thing about where can you find one, that someone would feel the need to come in and point out countries. If you read the whole post, I doubt you could find many people who fit it. You say the height. Many are gone. You say acting talent. Most are gone. Speaks American English well? There goes most of the few remaining. Has the look? Now you have a couple of people still standing there. Funny thing is, one of them is Alexander. He is from the right country, speaks American English without an accent, has the height, has the look, has muscle tacked on, and best of all he can act.

Believe me. If Thor never opened his mouth, I would have suggested some former wrestler or someone who specialized in this sort of stuff. Surely there is a 6'6'', muscled up version of Doug Jones somewhere. Remember, Thors actor has to hold up next to Edward Norton and Robert Downey Jr., and Don Cheadle so far, with more to come. You get some fool who can't act and you are screwed.

If Thor was 6' tall, they would have cast some Oscar worthy actor. They ran into a problem with the size. It doesn't leave them many choices.

My comment before this one is awaiting moderation because I posted links to pictures. Understandable, but I made a mistake in it and since it isn't up yet, I now get to correct a non existent mistake. I combined two movie titles into one, when talking about the size Christian Bale was before the first Batman movie. I was going to talk about Superman Returns and Batman Begins, with how beef upped the stars got after they were cast. I ended up shortening it up, but might as well discuss both now. It wouldn't be hard for someone with Alexander's frame to get to movie screen Thor size.

Anyway, when someone lets the comment go through you will see a couple of pictures of Alexander and how big he is right now. In my opinion, he is the complete package for this particular movie only, but that is all discussed when my post goes through.

That picture looks old, he got beefed up for Generation Kill when he played a Force Recon Sgt., here is an out of focus pic(Only one I saw without a shirt on): http://www.screencaps.biz/genklg1.jpg

Bale did The Machinist before Batman Returns and weighed about the same as a starving guy.

Here is a pic from True Blood: http://www.trueblood-online.com/images/alexander.jpg

Lets put it this way. Where are you going to find a 6'4'', Scandinavian guy, with long blonde hair, who can act, and who has already played a Viking. Oh and add in that his father is one of the best actors on the planet, he can speak English without an accent, and he actively works in the US now.

I say hands down, he is the best candidate I can think of.
