A while back I talked about a short film simply called 9 that was being developed into a feature length film.
The look and feel of it is like a darker grittier version of the Playstation 3 game Little Big Planet, and I love the style.

9 is an upcoming sci-fi CGI animated movie created and directed by Shane Acker. It is co-produced by Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov and animated by Attitude Studio (in Luxembourg) and by Starz Animation (in Toronto), with a few sequences done by Duncan Studios in LA. The film can boast a nice voice cast with: Elijah Wood, Christopher Plummer, Martin Landau, John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly and Crispin Glover. 9 will be released on September 9, 2009, yes; that’s 9.9.9!
This looks like it will capture all the wonder and fascination of the original short and bring it to a deserving full feature. I can hardly wait.

TOTALLY A-MUST-SEE FOR 200(9). I’m definitely eager to see how these races of dolls will secure a future for humans when there is no human life left. still this movie will rock tim burtons a mad genius at animation movies. and wanted director has great vision.
Saw the original trailer for 9 a couple of weeks ago and for someone who is kinda lukewarm about animated movies I thought that it rocked. This new trailer just continues the awesomeness of the first. Great background song too.

When I first heard about this movie, I wan’t sure about it.
But wow…that trailer won me over real damn fast.
Just watched that again, and saw that the same guy directed Wanted. I wasn’t a HUGE fan of Wanted as a whole, but the guy gets props for action, that much is sure. I’m gonna try to catch this opening day too.
I get goosebumps every time I see this trailer. The music alone just grabs me by the soul. I think this will be an opening night movie for me.
