Balboa, I am a big Harry Potter fan myself, but if you try to compare it to the epic world and works of JRR Tolkien you are going to find yourself the victim of some forbidden curses.

I have read the books, and it IS targeted at kids. Even JK Rowling herself said as much.

Its not that deep, barely profound and not all that epic.

Slushie Man, Harry Potter is not a kid’s series. It is a fantasy series on par with The Lord of the Rings trilogy. It is just as deep, profound, and epic. Anyone who thinks this series is for kids obviously knows nothing about it and has never read the later books.

THIS MOVIE IS GETTING A PG RATING FOR ONE REASON: IN ORDER TO CROSS THE 1 BILLION MARK. THE LAST HARRY POTTER MADE AROUND 938.5 MILLION DOLLARS WORLDWIDE WITH A PG 13. FROM A FINANCIAL PERSPECTIVE THIS IS AN INTELLIGENT MOVE. FROM A FILM PERSPECTIVE, I HOPE IT DOES NOT COMPROMISE THE STORY.

All the movies have been PG in Canada, so I don’t see what the big deal is. The U.S. rating system is fucked anyway – NO consistency AT ALL. Doesn’t mean it’s going to be any less violent then the previous movies.

And Jesus H Christ, it’s a kid’s series. You guys are bitching becuase a kid series is PG? Give me a break…

They probably toned it down a bit. Given that both parts of 7 are going to be hard hitting with it’s story/action.

And I dont recall there being any flesh wounds or spilling of entrails in said death at the end of the movie.

Yeah, but for those who know how this will end, how can that be PG? Not only is a graphic spell fight, but there is major death in this movie
