Emmanuelle Chriqui joins 13

Late last year, we talked about 13 Tzameti, and John even gave a review of the original now it looks like French Canadian Emmanuelle Chriqui will be joining the cast.

Emmanuelle Chriqui (Sloan on HBO’s Entourage) is joining Gela Babluani’s 13, which is a remake of the French thriller 13 Tzameti.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Shannon, Ben Gazzara and Alex Skarsgard also recently have been added to the cast, which includes Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, 50 Cent, Ray Winstone and Sam Riley.

13 concerns a young man who is forced to participate in a high-stakes game of Russian Roulette where wealthy gamblers bet on human lives.

Don’t get me started on 50 Cent as an actor. I hope he gets shot first.

The original lays out a 22 year old who is living with his mom and sister, struggling with poverty. He trips over an opportunity to join a high stakes game like group Russian Roulette that could yeild a lot of money and support his family.

In the original, the main character was the suspense. However I suspect that in the American remake of this french subtitled film, we will be getting a lot more background of the characters involved.
