Wolverine and the X-Men Images Online

There is another animated X-Men cartoon coming your way thanks to Nicktoons and Marvel Animation.

Back in the 80s with Spiderman and Hulk Cartoons being so popular, we begged to see the X-Men in animated form. There was one pilot episode tossed out there called Pryde of the XMen, however with Wolverine sounding Australian (ironic since Jackman is famous for portraying Wolvie and he is Australian) and a number of other inconsistencies, the show never happened. Now decades later we are tripping over the 3rd/4th incarnation?

IESB shares:

Produced by Marvel Animation, the new 26-episode, half-hour series follows Wolverine as he reunites the X-Men in an attempt to save the world. The adventure begins with two back-to-back episodes Friday, Jan. 23, from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. (ET)

With the X-Men movie franchise on hold, and X-Men Origins taking its place with a story about Wolverine this makes perfect sense that they would bring about another animated series. And confidence is running high as Marvel Animation is already working on the second season which got the green light before the first was even released.

The XMen series from the 90s was awesome, and it was the first series I collected on video (VHS tapes no less) and then there was the hipper version in more recent years. Seems to be quite the trend to re-invent these shows from time to time. Batman did it, so why not the X-Men.

I am looking forward to the premier tonight.

Strange how the US got a late release with this show. It’s been on Canadian television for the last few months.

hey when does the student xmen show come out? the teenager xmen? like a real live action show about teenager xmen at the mansion

  6. I didn’t know about the new X-Men cartoons…I loved the series released back in the 90′s and I thought the more recent tween X-Men released in 2000′s were horribly annoying.

  7. Saw the first two eps and they are stellar! There was a lot of resemblance to Gargoyles as far as minor character design details like Beast’s hands and Wolverine’s face while he’s in costume. Plus, the orchestral-sounding score is something that animated shows haven’t really done since Gargoyles. I’m looking forward to the rest of the season!
