  1. I am a former pro wrestler for 20 yrs,WWF,WCW N ECW.I am glad some one is going to tell a seamingly true story about the crappy way we r treated when we get older and have to do the indy circut.I lived this life style they r goin to show you with the drinking drugs fame and loss of the family to this sport. The reality is once you have been a star on tv every week u dont accept loosing it very well so u take the wrong road sometime.Micky Rourke is the most awsome choice to play the part and I am lookin forward to seeing it the nite it comes out.Truth is u as fans see the glamour its not at all what u see !!! Thats what is fake !!!!!!

  2. Big fan of the whole Rocky series and the first is my favourite. I likened it to Balboa because both guys look doggedly heroic, world weary and have faces that tell stories of a lifetime of toil (or plastic surgery)

  3. @ Party Marty

If you haven’t seen the original Rocky, look it up. The Wrestler, seems like a great fitting story abour an underdog and/or has been doing a comeback like the first Rocky was. I can’t wait to see this.

  4. Marisa Tomei has been goin’ in recently (Before the Devil Knows…) and Evan Rachel Wood is pretty talented. Rourkes face is definitely creepy to look, funny how he was Johnny Handsome, but he is definitely someone that holds your attention although not a great actor he gives good enough performances. Aranofsky does grimy well tho.

  5. I was already looking forward to this movie, and that trailer got me even more anxious. This looks like a great performance from Rourke.

    Couple things –

This trailer made me think that the suggestion on this blog a month or so back would work: Rourke for the title role should “The Dark Knight Returns” happen!

And that Springsteen song was brilliant in this trailer. Very fitting.

  6. This trailer looks great and I think it is a new direction for Aronofsky. I love that line “Kurt Cobain came along and ruined it” The 90’s ruled and grunge = best music ever.

  7. I’m looking forward to seeing it as well, i liked Requiem for a Dream and i’m very curious on how Darren Aronofsky does with his RoboCop reboot even tho there’s only one true RoboCop movie and that’s the Paul Verhoeven cult classic RoboCop.
