Get Smart International Posters

Hot on the heals of the new Get Smart trailer comes these two new international character posters for the movie. Personally, I LOVE THEM. Especially the Maxwell Smart one. Apparently the spanish title for the film will be “Agent 86”. I guess the old “Get Smart” show didn’t get much play outside the US or Canada. (via MoviesOnline)

  1. Oh, and Anne Hathaway is an extremely bad actress. Princess Diaries #1? Unwatchable do to her “acting”. Couldn’t stand the thought of sitting through 2. Brokeback… she was THE weakest link, especially in that bad blonde wig and then when they started to age her. Prada? Although tolerable, she was horribly, horribly miscast.

  2. Wow. Bad, bad Photoshop headstrip on Carrell! His body all contorted into a strange position, and as previous commenters said, his neck is simply **gone, baby gone**.

    P. U.

  3. I have to agree with Paul Di Gaetano on his comment about Carell’s poster, it looks like CRAP! That head is maybe one of the worst photoshop jobs I’ve ever seen. It almost looks like one of those old photo-op areas they had in the carnivals and circuses where you’d put your head in a hole and someone would take your picture looking extremely goofy.

  4. It isn’t even a question of ‘exposure’ in other countries. The expression ‘get smart’ doesn’t translate well into other languages. This happens more than you think.

My favorite retitling was for ‘Not Another Teen Movie’ which became in French ‘Sex Academy’.

  5. I’m from Colombia and we used to watch that show all the time. It’s very famous down there, but NODOBY knows it as “Get Smart” but “Agent 86”. We used to translate all the show’s names to something that will sound better in spanish. Another example, the A-Team in spanis was “Los Magnificos”, which translates “The Great Ones” or something like that.
