Tron 2 will be Shot in 3D

Looks like the upcoming Tron sequel, dubbed Tr2n will be shot entirely in 3d!

MovieWeb taps:

With new technology, they can actually wear the glasses at the monitors as they shoot & it will show them exactly how the 3-D will look so that they can get exactly what they are looking for.

If there has ever been a world that 3-D would totally embrace, I think it would be the world of Tron. Specifically, we are going to get a first person view from inside of a light cycle in the film. That should be a lot of fun.

It hadn’t occured to me that they wouldn’t sample what they had done in 3d during production, but I can just imagine the offices of the animators all huddled around their computers with a pair of 3d glasses on.

I think it is cool that we might get a first person view from inside the bike, but I hope that using this tech doesn’t have the film leaning too much on “ooooh… look at this 3d element” scenes and deliberate reaches out of the screen and just focuses on the story.

The news of Tron is quickly upon us, I just wish they would agree on a title! This is yet another article that is reverting back to the Tr2n name, which is growing on me.

I hope they DO deliberately pop stuff out of the screen at me, I love that crap…..I want to see the audience dodging and ducking virtual tron discs….or whatever.
