New Friday the 13th Images Online
Looks like we get a few more looks at the set and cast of the upcoming Friday the 13th remake.
I think after the franchise evolved outside its first chapter, the fanbase really attaches Jason to the name. Most people forget that Jason was an afterthought in the first movie. It was his vengeful mother taking revenge on those hedonistic and careless camp counsellors that brought about this rampage of gory death scenes. It wasn’t until the sequel that we were properly introduced to the supernatural psuedo zombie Jason Vorhees. But it makes sense if they are going to reboot, that they bring Jason front and center.
So looking at the cast, who do we figure is first? Will this follow “the rules” as laid out in the now classic Scream movies? Virgin girl lives to the end, ethnic minority dies first, etc…?
Friday the 13th will naturally open this coming February… on Friday the 13th!
In the first picture, by the way Jason’s positioned, it kinda looks like he’s telling the kid:
“Now, I said take my ID and go get me some beer!!”
And, TBH, the guys in the second picture look gay. As in “Brokeback Mountain” gay..
And it’s not really surprising that they’re still sticking to the Minority Rule, with only ONE black person in that entire photo. I mean, I’m Caucasian, but it’s going be painfully OBVIOUS as to who feels Jason’s undead wrath first. It wouldn’t kill the filmmakers to occasionally throw away the cliques every now and then, would it?

Yep, the black guy will be a wanna be bad ass and the Asian guy will be very, very smart (maybe even a computer nerd). Neither will live to the end though. Slutty looking blond on the left dies early as well. Spunky looking brunette in the white pants saves the day.

Supernatural psuedo zombie Jason Vorhees didn’t happen until #6: Jason Lives.
I hope Dick Casablancas either lives to the end or dies an absolutely totally awesome memorable surfer dude death. Still haven’t gotten over the loss of Veronica Mars…
And looks, there is that guy from Gilmore Girls. Do old WB/CW shows feed actors directly into horror movies these days?
Jay E – Jared Padalecki (the guy from Gilmore Girls) is still on the CW, he’s on a little show called Supernatural.
I think Jared’s character and the chic in the white pants will be our survivors. The blonde will probably be the first female victim since she looks ultra farmer’s daughter slutty.
I intrested in this just to see another Jason movie. The fact its a re-make doesnt bother at all because all Jason ever did was kill teens at camp crystal lake (except in part 8,9,10, FvJ) I also like the idea that Jason is faster in this movie. Makes it more scary when a horror icon thats an unstopable killer can run after you rather than marching.
The movie to me is not a huge departure from the orginal series (as well it shouldn’t be) so even if its made as a re-boot/remake it might also work as a sequel.

LOL. Totally agree. Kudos to the casting department. It’s a good sign when I want everyone in that picture to die. Is this healthy ?
Is it really a remake? Since it is obviously not Jason’s mother under the bag, it really doesn’t have a whole lot in common with the first movie. I get the impression they are just rebooting it and making the deaths less “comedic”. The late Friday the 13th movies went way overboard and tried to be like Nightmare on Elm Street.
I’m glad their remaking it. I just finished watching the first one about 10 minutes and I was pretty bored with it. Last time I saw it was maybe 10 years ago.

Theres no way the black guy will die first. You guys are living two decades in the past. Theres political correctness now. The black guy will make it almost to the end. He’ll be the last killed leaving only the sole survivor. Dont know who that’ll be though. You figure since everyone thinks it’ll be the virgin blonde that theyll try to change it up this time.
I always thought a cool slasher movie would be one where all the good kids are killed and its the sex obssesed, drug using, getting drunk kids that survive. Thats what they should do in this movie, that girl (”the bad girl”) should be the survivor – wouldnt that be cool?

Jason leapt out of the lake resurrected from his drowning in the lake many years later. So he is undead the first time we see the adult murdering Jason.
Just because he was re-reanimated in 6 doesnt mean he wasn’t already a pseudo zombie.
Am I the only person who thinks this movie doesn’t look very good?

Black guys aren’t always the first to die anymore, especially when there’s only one black cast member. Now if there a black guy and black girl, one of them would be the first to go. Film makers feel the need to show that they’re PC and kill off a white person (maybe two) before they get to the minorities. I’m guessing num nuts in the grey tee sitting on the truck will be the first one whacked.

Nova’s right, he used to feel pain and shit before 6, after that he became zombie that could be shot, stabbed that he wouldn’t even budge.
So “resurrected from the dead by supernatural means” doesn’t equal pseudo zombie?

if it died and came back from the dead and it DOESNT have a beating ehart..its a zombie.
if however, it was killed by being BITTEN by a werewolf or a vamp, and it DOES turn into that character…then its a wolf/vamp. but if its just killed by a werewolf by being punched yet it comes back from the dead (with NO heartbeat) its a zombie
now if mummification took place, then its still a branch of zombieality but mummies have only one porpuse, to be remembered forever. zombies eat brains
also ghosts or spirits also count but thats another dimension and doesnt aply with the basic rules of the dead

There’s no way the black guy will die first, hollywood is way too politically correct. Why do they even have to put minorities in this to begin with. Political Correctness ruins every movie that it has creative control over. Any time you see a movie like this you can’t help but think, “why did they cast these actors, there’s no way this group of people would even hang out together much less be friends”. The film makers should make it an all white cast and make the characters so alike that you can’t tell who’s going to die, when they’re going to die or who’s going to survive. That would be alot more entertaining. A good horror movie shouldn’t be predicable… (In case a politically correct liberal reads this, I don’t “hate” minorities, I’m all for equal rights… I just don’t want to be preached to while watching a movie.
Kelly – I agree, political correctness has pretty much ruined the entertainment industry. There should be a separation of politics and entertainment law, just like separation of church and state. Trying to brainwash people through entertainment is just a sorry low life thing to do, and for those of us not stupid enough to fall for their bullshjt it’s really annoying.
So far it looks about the same as Freddy Vs. Jason… if that’s how it turns out, then it will suck.
