I'll give you your space and let you hate the Chipmunks movie. I liked it, and know many fans of the 80's cartoon (people in their 30's) who just adored the live action movie. It was pretty much an episode of the old cartoons. Now the news of the Chipettes is exactly what needs to be done. If they wern't in it I would question who paid attention to the Chipmunks to begin with. Eleanor, Brittany, and Jeanette are so cute, and they will add much fun when matched up with Alvin, Simon and Theodore. Now the big question is, who will play Ms. Miller. I'm betting on Cathy Bates.
