You havent offered any reason to assume it WILL be bad aside from your admitted bias against remakes in general and your assumption that its wrong to not want to read a movie. Reading subtitles takes away from the film for many people. Why enforce some narrow view that they have to suck it up because you are already judging a film that hasn't even been made? And why not? So why NOT make a movie that has a great story? And ANY actor can be replaced. Some are just harder than others. Will Smith is a fantastic actor when duty calls. There is no reason to think he can't do the character justice. He is more than capable of capturing vastly different roles with great success. Any great movie starts with a great story.
