  1. Anthony…. PLEASE justify the “teenagers” comment.

Because Pine is 28 and Quinto is 31. I don’t know what teenagers look like where you are from but these guys are FAR from kids.

    That is just ignorant nonsense.

  2. They’re not doing much for me i’m afraid. There is nothing particularly ‘Trek’ about them.

Now if you had a one sheet of Kirk in ‘the chair’, then it would work (but i’m sure that’s on the way).

  3. I’m hoping this movie will be something to get excited about, but so far I remain skeptical. The shading is nice on these posters, but other than that I don’t like them. I’m not feeling the “stare down” posters. On Monday when the trailer is released I’m hoping to feel more excited.

  4. yeah im glad may is packed…but they really need to move it unless they want to be manhandled by wolverine

    and you guys! wtf!

you forgot about bruno!!!! that comes out then too

    xD

  5. Mr Negative, Leonard Nimoy himself has said that Quinto has nailed it.

And you might not have watched Heroes much, as Zach has played alternate future Sylar/Gabriel so differently that he is a totally different person. And his role on 24 is different as well.

Just because you have only seen him in one thing does not mean he is a “one trick pony”.

Star Trek isn’t relevant anymore. The fanbase is clinging on to the old and complaining about the less old. This has to be great to get new fans and appeal to the cranky clingers.

    or was that Klingons?

I ment to say was X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Terminator Salvation, my point is Star Trek will probably make a lot of money on opening weekend but with X-Men Origins: Wolverine continuing it’s success Star Trek will probably make less then it should and Terminator Salvation coming the week after Star Trek will drop down about i’m predicting 60%…

All i’m trying to say is Star Trek could of made WAY more money if they just moved it up a bit.

  7. Sorry, but I’m just not excited about the new Star Trek. Zachary Quinto may look like the Nimoy, but does he have the gravitas to play one of the coolest and most well-known sci-fi characters in existence? I mean, just because he resembles the character doesn’t mean he’s going to play him well. Have you guys watched HEROES at all? He’s a one trick pony. Sorry for the ranting, I just think this movie is going to be a huge disappointment, especially if its opening against other huge blockbusters such as T4 and Xmen:wolverine.

And honestly, how long has it been since Star Trek was relevant? This movie has to be AWESOME in order for the general public to care.

According to Boxofficemojo, Star Trek opens May 8, a week after “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and a week before “Angels and Demons”.

“Terminator Salvation” opens May 22 along with “Night at the Museum 2. Escape from the Smithsonian”

    Transformers 2 doesn’t open until June 26.

True that’s a another reason why Speed Racer flop because with the budget $120,000,000 it was going against Indiana Jones and Iron Man.

Star Trek with it’s budget of $150 million is going against Terminator 4 and Transformers 2.
