Eric Bogosian Would Be Game For Under Siege 3

By Doug - November 4, 2008 - 10:06 America/Montreal

Ericbogosian ChoiceEric Bogosian spilled his guts to MTV about the possibility of an Under Siege 3. Check out what he had to say -

Eric Bogosian in ‘Under Siege 2: Dark Territory’Steven Seagal recently told MTV News that he’s been looking at offers for a third installment of his “Under Siege” series, which he would prefer to be more modern, even more sci-fi. If that’s the case, could there be a little room for Travis Dane, who’s faked his death at least once and perhaps didn’t actually die at the end of “Under Siege 2: Dark Territory”?

“He hadn’t talked to me about it,” Eric Bogosian, who played Dane, told us when we caught up with him at the Directors Guild Honors. “But I had a blast doing it before. It’s one of the most fun things I was ever involved with.” “If we could do it with Geoff Murphy, the director [for 'Under Siege 2’], that would be a lot of fun,” Bogosian said. “Geoff had a great sense of humor. It took us a while to get each other. I didn’t realize I’d be dealin with a guy as funny as that, but once we started getting it, we were very in sync. So yeah, I’d be happy to do it again. It was a lot of fun.”

There has been a bunch of chatter lately about the possibility of another Under Siege movie. I saw the first one years ago, have not yet seen the second; but would be game for a third. I generally dislike needless sequels, but in the world of action and horror, they make more sense; and can be a lot of fun. I am also going to take any opportunity that I can to see Stephen Segal breaking limbs.

Who knows if this film will end up happening. I think it’s funny that people are letting it be known that they are game for another round. If their interest sparks flames of desire within the film community perhaps we will see an Under Siege 3. We have seen worse venture on the silver screen in recent history; could the world be ready to welcome Segal anew? Could Under Siege 3 be a triumphant return to glory?!

Make it so.

It is, I thought it was House.

  3. This would be cool and I’d be interested if they actually go ahead with it! Seagal fighting aliens that the Travis Dane character is in cahoots with? I say bring it on!!

Eric, Eric, c’mon man. Just take another look at what happened to you at the end of Under Siege 2:

Yeah, I think you see where I’m going from:)

It’s have to be a sci-fi sequel if Bogosian is brought on board, considering the fate of his character at the end of UNDER SIEGE 2. Spoiler warning here, but his character is shot, has his fingers chopped off, falls a few hundred feet from a helicopter into a fireball and explodes. That would be an interesting trick coming back from that.

Forget Eric. We need more Gary Busey in drag!

  7. It’s funny I Am Hard Target above mentioned Busey; there was that brief time in developing Under Siege 2 that Busey’s character would have returned…

…Eric Bogosian …I used to love his early standup/one man act plays; I loved ‘Talk Radio’. He’s been a fine addition to “Law & Order: CI” the last few seasons.

…I’m not for mixng it up w/sci-fi or supernatural elements, although by this point Seagal might as well do a zombie picture. What the hell.

…I want Kathy Heigel back as Seagal’s niece. This time with a .45 in one hand, a bowie knife in the other, and two muay thai knees.

…I’d rather Seagal reunite with helmer Andy Davis (the director of the first film and also Above The Law) than Geoff Murphy. I won’t hold my breath for either one.

The guy in the pictures gonna eat you all alive
