It’s cool to see Downey decked out as Holmes, these pictures certainly are cause for excitement. It just saddens me that none of the images have him rocking the pipe. But beggars can’t be choosers, and I’m thankful for the pictures that we’ve been able to get. What do you guys thinks of the pics?
P.S. It’s funny to see Sherlock Holmes with a Starbucks cup.

Well. I don’t know if some of you have read the Sherlock Holmes books but, I don’t think he ever wear a cap with two visors in the books nor has he ever smoke the pipe. The look that we know of him was created when they brought Sherlock Holmes to the screen in his earlier incarnations and it became canon after that.
Maybe, for this movie, they wanted to go straight to the source for his look. Downy is ok except for the fact that Sherlock Holmes was tall and thin though in great shape. He was a master of disguise so, that might have been why they decided to put a hat on him in the first Sherlock Holmes movies.
RDJ right now is probably my favorite actor. And I have always been a fan of Holmes books, movies and TV shows. But I just don’t see RDJ as Sherlock Holmes and these pictures don’t help. He looks more like Chaplin again.
it does look more efficient if he was wearing red coat.

Crazy question — could this be Holmes in disguise?
Well by ditching the deerstalker and pipe they have gone back to the source novels, and it worked for Bond.
I also agree, he looks more like Charles Chaplin, then the great detective.
No double-rimmed hat, no trenchcoat, and no pipe . . . this is nuts . . .
Interesting take on the costume… Looks like they’re going for a sort of eccentric-genius angle, with the badly fitting, slightly mismatched clothes. Not sure how well that fits Holmes though, I thought he was a bit sharper than your stereotypical mad scientist. I’m going to hope Andrew’s right that he’s in disguise :P

Just curious, but when is it set? I know the Starbucks is just on the set, but I’m just curious.
At a quick glance, I thought these pictures could possibly be of a disguised Holmes for when he’s scouring the streets for data, but it is far too clean of an outfit for that. I just hope that Holmes’ cocaine addiction isn’t shrouded in the movie; it was a trait that gave him more dimension and seem less robotic.

It does look more like a Watson hat. These are just pics from him walking around the set – its possible he just threw on a bunch of random crap from wardrobe.
Just wondering if Sher’s latte doesn’t have a bit of the ol’ seven percent solution in it. Downey is lookng a bit downey and raggedy.
