McG Signs On For Adaptation Of Dead Spy Runing

McgThe man known as McG is lining up another series for himself starting with an adaptation of Dead Spy Running. We get the following scoop from our friends at the movieweb:

McG is certainly getting his dose of action films of late, signing on to a new project. According to Variety, McG will direct the adaptation of the forthcoming novel, Dead Spy Running.

The book, written by British author Jon Stock, will be published next summer and will be the first of a three-part series. The story revolves around a new spy starting up his training, who’s said to be a cross between John LeCarre and Jason Bourne.

Well we no nothing of this project yet other than what has been revealed above. I wonder how close the book release will coincide with the film. It would be nice for those who would like to read the book first to be given that opportunity.

This will be another action trilogy for McG if they seek to adapt every book to film. Between this and the new Terminator films, he should busy for quite some time to come. It is my hope that he does justice to the Terminator franchise. I wasn’t a fan of T3 and hope T4 is good enough to actually get the blessing of Cameron (for real this time).
