Look For Star Trek Trailer In Novenber

Star TrekWe have some news on when to expect the next Star Trek trailer (with dialogue) today thanks to our friends over at Latino Review:

A source tells TrekMovie the theatrical trailer coming in November “is not a teaser, but a real trailer with footage from the film.” Edits are still being made, but it is expected to show the Enterprise exterior and the Enterprise bridge as well as dialog from movie.

November isn’t too far away! I am skeptical about his new Star Trek film, but am still quite curious to see the trailer. I am hoping to get a flavor of the film and that will certainly raise or lower my expectations rightly or wrongly.

I am still disappointed that Star Trek high is the direction that they decided to go with this one. Using the classic characters earlier in life seem like a mistake. I think fleshing out origins is usually a bad idea. Mysterious origins are interesting origins, that’s why wrestles come from “parts unknown”.

November can’t come soon enough! I’m excited about the new direction JJ has taken the franchise – bolstered by the fact that the new cast seems awesome (a la Quinto, Pegg and Cho).

Star Trek High may not sound that interesting, but I have confidence in JJ’s abilities to create a compelling story. [My one gripe with JJ is Fringe. Kind of disappointed with outrageous plots - using a scanner to view images from the eye of a corpse? DIdn't Will Smith already do that in the Wild WIld West?]

Don’t you just love though that we haven’t seen any footage yet? We haven’t even seen full photos of the characters in costume. I’ve really missed the days where we had to wait for the trailer before we got to see anything from the film because studios these days seem to be so scared of leaked photos hitting the web first or want to start their marketing really early, so we feel like we’ve seen everything there is to see well before the film comes out.

I’m just giddy that this Star Trek trailer is really the first time we are going to see where this new film is going and how it’s going to look. I can’t wait.

  3. I am a huge fan of ORIGIN stories and I am very thankful to be able to embark on this new Maiden Voyage of the S.S. Enterprise! I wish the trailer was coming out this weekend. Can’t come soon enough.

…and I think that wrestlers come from “parts unknown” because they are too lazy and uninventive to come up with a really truly excellent ORIGIN story.

Oh yeah, how many military academies have the Generals in school with the Lieutenants, and are the same age? Wouldn’t Kirk be 5-10 years ahead of everyone else, (except maybe Spock)? This had better be plausible…or I’m gonna take my Dilithium crystals and go home.

Take heart Doug. The trailer will be attached to Quantum of Solace! A geek double header.

Also JJ Abrams states the movie will be around two hours long.
