Josh Brolin As Jonah Hex

By Doug - October 9, 2008 - 11:31 America/Montreal

Josh-1Holy Crow! Winds of rumors are swirling about that Jonah Hex will be played by Josh Brolin! We get the following scoop thanks to our friends at comingsoon:

Hollywood Elsewhere reports that Josh Brolin, who can be seen in next week’s W., has signed on to star in Warner Bros. Pictures’ Jonah Hex. This has yet to be confirmed by the studio, so stay tuned.

“Jonah Hex,” created by by writer John Albano and artist Tony DeZuniga, first appeared in the early 1970s in the issues of “All-Star Western” before graduating to his own series in 1977 that ran for about 10 years. A new series was launched in 2005. The character also had a run in the 1990s that combined the Western genre with supernatural elements.

Well Neveldine and Taylor have certainly scored with this casting. If you want a bad ass western lead, you will be hard pressed to find any better than Josh Brolin. This is a glorious casting indeed and I certainly hope this news gets confirmed by the dudes; because I want it to be true.

this ranks right up there with Robert Downey Jr. being cast as Tony Stark-sheer brilliance!

  4. Shaun says:

    This is excellent news.

What happened to the podcasts, those were the highlight of my day?

  5. I’m with SHAUN… really am sad about the current state of having to exist without having new podcasts to watch at breakfast every morning.

  6. Shaun says:

Does anyone know why we haven’t seen any for almost two weeks now?

YO dudes, the studio has been moving from on location to another. Because of this we do not have the set up to get the video casts/audio pulls. We are currently flip flopping on the live show just on our web cams.

I understand that many listen to the podcasts en route to work and/or listen throughout the day as part of a routine.

I apologize for the lack of casts. If there is anything I can do personally to soothe this affliction – let me know. I aim to soothe

Yes I love this idea….I can’t wait to see it..

  9. First-

    1. The possible casting of Brolin as Hex is nothing short of sweet. Anyone remember one of his first roles in the short lived TV show “The Young Riders”? The Seeler does. I just love the idea of Brolin back in the western genre. Which reminds me…I still have a slight disdain for the “supernatural” Hex. I would rather have hints or allusions to it, but I’d like to see more of a western.

And since his other, Diane Lane, was in Lonesome Dove, could she have a cameo? Somewhere? Anywhere?

    Second-

The lack of podcasts/ studio moving around:

Is there something that is stopping John & Doug from doing an audio podcast now and then? Should they go back to NowLive, even for a short time?

However…this might not be such a bad thing, the lack of podcasts/shows in recent days. The Seeler, you see, is somewhat of an optimist. On the upside? John Campea could focus a little more here and there on his low budget film Anniversary Party. And where, oh where are the the little snippet updates of Gio walking down the street? Those are AWOL too!lol

Seriously, though. If nothing else, a twenty minute/half hour Monday or Friday *audio* edition as far as podcasts go. Maybe even go back, if possible, to the old roundtables. Get Darren C and/or Bruxy and/or Rodney on Skype or something.

    Just a thought.
