This sounds an awful lot like the Robert Rankin novel ‘Hollow Chocolate Bunnies Of The Apocalypse’, where all the famous nursery rhyme characters are being bumped off one by one, and disgraced detective Eddie Bear has to figure out what’s going on… Set in Toy City, which is what Toy Town became as it grew…

I haven’t seen The Dark Crystal in a helluva long time. I think I recall the Angel Puppet episode. This sounds a lot like “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” except the main character is in the minority(rather than Bob Hoskins playing a human).

Actually, the Jim Henson Co. had been doing an “adults only” puppet improv group in Hollywood called Puppet Up Uncensored for a while now. I hear it’s hilarious and I’d LOVE to go see it.

Henson and his family that succeeded him have always felt that puppets were a means to tell a story and haven’t really intentionally skewed to “family” entertainment. If you really watch, I think what makes all of Henson’s products so successful is that they recognize the adult appeal as well and like Looney Tunes they don’t pander to their audience, they simply entertain. And by being entertaining, all ages end up loving them.
