Headshot

Headshot-1It looks like another set of graphic novels are getting primed to be pumped for the silver screen. We get wind of this news thanks to our friends at comingsoon:

Warner Bros. Pictures has acquired screen rights to “Headshot,” a three-book graphic novel series by Alexis Nolent that was published in France by Casterman. Alessandro Camon has been set to write the script..

In “Headshot,” an unlikely alliance between a cop and a hitman takes place after each watches his partner die. The new partners seek revenge and discover they have a shared enemy and much in common despite being on opposite sides of the law.

I haven’t read these graphic novels so I will appeal to the collective knowledge of my international friends – if you have read these books, please share your thoughts with us.

Comic book films have proven to be winners, as have graphic novel adaptations. If I was a comic book writer, i’d be pleased with my odds right about now. It looks like Hollywood is snatching up everything they can get their hands on.

I like the idea of 2 spectrums of justice coming together to tackle a common enemy. This makes for interesting interplay between the characters as they journey towards the common goal. I am not a huge fan of buddy cop films, but this sounds like an angle that has some promise.

  1. I’m thinking this has a chance and being decent.

“A History of Violence” turned out AWESOME!

Let’s hope this does something like that film did as far as adapting the GN to film medium.
