Captain America Seen In Hulk DVD Deleted Scene

We all know that Marvel Studios has been purposefully working that various Avengers into the individual character movies (Nick Fury in Iron Man, Tony Stark and mention of the Super Solider project in Hulk). However, it looks like on the Hulk DVD they’re adding even more references. A reader sent this heads up to the guys at FilmSchoolRejects where in an alternate scene in the Arctic you can see something in the ice.

Pretty damn sweet. Looks like they are indeed going to be following the classic story line of starting the Cap in the WW2 days and bring him up to modern times via being frozen in ice. Thanks to the guys at FSR for the heads up.

  1. Ok, with some repeated viewings on my laptop, I can see the dark spot on the ice where Cap is supposed to be. Can’t make out any limbs, or shield, or if it’s just shadow or dirty ice or what. I don’t have a frame by frame option, on my laptop or DVD player, and my TV is over twenty years old. Maybe I need modern tech, then I could see it?

  2. Man, I have the DVD, I’ve been looking for Cap, and still can’t see . . A Damn Thing! Saw it on /Film though, but is that actually in the DVD? Still can’t find it in the alternate opening DVD segment. I wonder, if he is there, how did the Capsicle get so far inland? In that alternate scene, judging by how little gear Bruce has, which he sheds on the way, he couldn’t have walked more than 10 or so miles from the road the trucker drops him at. That was clearly on the edges of the Canadian (Alaskan?) wilderness. So Bruce couldn’t have walked, with little food, no deep winter survival gear, to the edge of the Arctic. And Cap couldn’t have been carried inland by glacial movement; there wasn’t enough time since he was frozen in ’44 or ’45.
    I think it’s all a trick by Loki . . .

  3. I got Blu-Ray and I saw Captain America. I had to watch the scene like 6 times but after watching it on slow motion it clearly shows Captain America for a single frame. You see his body and a shield but it’s very “cartoony”

  4. so i rented the movie and watched then watched the deleted scenes and there was no scene of him going anywhere near antartica or what ever tundra he may have gone to

  5. I have the Blu-Ray, When you see it in motion, it is much clearer.
When the ice mountain is about to explode, pause it. Go frame by frame and watch the left side. At one point the shield looks oval but as that piece of ice is lifted, it becomes round and you can clearly see the round shield.
Frame by Frame it’s there. We have a 52′ LCD, so that might make the difference.

Thanks for the still. Without it, we wouldn’t have seen him.

  6. It’s tough to see, but i believe its supposed to be him..

    1) The director describes a scene like this having Cap.

    2) In the Captain America story, he is frozen in ice, and brought out in modern times…

    It makes sense

  7. I had to click on the FilmSchoolRejects link to see the image. John’s picture doesn’t help at all. The extra pictures at FilmSchoolRejects are very helpful. Makes more sense now, but without the reference images, I didn’t see it at first either.

John, some people just aren’t clicking through to get the help.

  8. I agreed with the majority of people saying that this was ridiculous, but looking again I realized its because they have the magnifying circle only on the portion of his body above the knees. Look again at the larger image and you can clearly see the outline of a man – I dare say its pretty large and obvious. I kind of feel like the person who finally was able to see those magic eye puzzles. I’m not too into the whole superhero movie fanaticism, but this is definitely interesting.

  9. Oh come on people, he’s just kidding. Someone started this someplace in the web and he’s joking about these nerds seeing things they want to see everywhere. It’s like the “fake” Apollo moon landing and such.

  10. In the comics, when the title of Captain America is taken away from Steve Rogers, Tony Stark makes him another one. It’s not inconceivable that Tony is just trying to recreate what was lost, for collector reasons.

Also, in the marvel universe when scientist reverse engineered Caps shield (a proto-adamantium and vibrainium mix) they came up with adamantium. How does this correlate to this string of opinions? Hell if I know, I’m just a geek going off on a tangent, cuz I’m pumped my favorite character is finally getting his due!!!

  11. Oh come on, people!! It’s right there!! I can make out the body, arms and legs. And you can’t miss the shield.. It’s there!! Squint if you must..

  12. it’s like a magic eye because the longer I stare at it the more I can see. I can make out the sheild and the torso now, but for some reason damned if I couldn’t make it out before. lol

  13. Yes, a man in the ice wearing a red white and blue striped uniform holding a circular red white and blue shield with a star in the middle in his hand is clearly nothing but a rock.

  14. Nope, still looks like just a rock. I think everyone is just reading too much into it, WANTING to see something there, when it’s nothing but a rock.

  15. I agree with John
    Its Cap/Sheild under the ice

    But..
I think people are taking this too seriously and trying to form some sort of stoyrline around it

its just a easter egg…just like how the Captain America sheild was found in Tony Starks bench in the background

    just a easter egg…nothing more…nothing less
    just something fun to find

  16. lol! john the picture sucks dude! well in this quality it does

like i totally see a figure running holding up a shield but its insane someone spotted this shit

i say the first person here that gets the DVD tell us what he sees

  17. I guess a bigger, better image is best. Right now all I see is…Nick Notle at the bottom of a pond…er…no, I see…The Wedigo as is is a slight easter egg for next years Wolverine…no…that’s not what it is.

That’s Captain America, who in the Avengers film a few years from now will have a personal vendetta against Bruce Banner/The Hulk.

I was stuck frozen in this damn glacier and you didn’t even lift up even one snowball to help me get out! I’m going to put my red boot up your narrow green a$$~!!

  18. you know what..i do think i se red and blue in the shield BUT in HD this has to be clear…whoever has bluray get this dvd and tell us if its real.

im 100% sure that in bluray this will be totally perfect/clear to our eyes

  19. well if this IS true…then its him maybe getting out of an army base after being unfrozen? hence the snow? maybe?

idk…hey IM at leats providing ideas!

  20. this is getting fucking ridiculous.

whats next? is captain america going to be shown taking a shit behind a boulder while thor fights yamir???

just SHOW US a teaser trailer so wed shut the fuck up for the next 14 months….

just make it an pfficial traielr but with no characters..kinda liek the first TDK trailer

  21. from an interview before the movie came out-

“There’s a point when Bruce Banner gives up on his quest for the cure and decides to kill himself. So he travels far North and reaches the Arctic Circle. You might have seen bits of it in some of the promos. The result was a very dark and strong scene, which Marvel, me and everyone else considered to be too hard to young audiences to take, so we’ve cut it. Having that said, when Bruce arrives at his destination he meets up with Captain America! At some point this week, we will make it available on the internet – but I cannot tell you where or when – and the material will definitely be on the DVD.”
    Director Louis Leterrier

  22. OK now I can see a blurry shield type thingymibob. It’s still bull, it’s too big and why only put it in an alternative scene in the most obscure way possible. It was CLEARLY in the IronMan scene anyway so it’s not even needed.
