Animal Kingdom

GuyWe have news of a new crime drama called Animal Kingdom. It stars Guy Peace and we get wind of this project thanks to our friends at comingsoon:

Guy Pearce will star alongside fellow Australians Ben Mendelson and Joel Edgerton in director David Michod’s first feature, the crime drama Animal Kingdom.

The Hollywood Reporter says that “Kingdom” centers on 17-year-old Joshua Cody trying to survive a criminal family with help from a cop (Pearce).

I am not crazy about Gangster/Cop films. The last film of this ilk that I enjoyed was Eastern Promises. Viggo was bad ass in that and I enjoyed the story. For the most part however this sort of bag falls flat with me.

I do however like the title quite a bit. For a film like this I think the name is fitting and appropriate. Criminal organizations are a step closer to the jungle than most of us and I think they did well in naming this one.

It is hard to imagine any individual being so pathetically stupid they would release a movie of such low calibre. The acting was like an extract from play school and the director quite simply must be retarded. What a monstrosity and what a shame the Australian film industry have associated with this garbage. The sooner the old school criminals responsible for the Australian “film industry” that have been embarassing Australians with inane dribble passed off as entertainment the better for us all.

Pearce was great in L.A. Confidential. Looks like he’s revisiting the “good cop” role.

    Doug,
This is the first time that I’ve seen you not call it torture “porn” but instead “graphic torture gore.”

Its a small difference, but it makes a whole mess of it.

    Once again, TMB: lovin’ it.
