Tom Cruise Kills Shrek 4 Rumors

It looks like commander Cruise won’ t be lending his voice to Shrek 4 in any way, shape, or form. We get the clarification from Tom’s people via the truth caves of Yahoo:
“As of today, there is no truth to the Tom Cruise-Shrek 4 rumor,” rep Jeff Raymond tells E! News without further explanation.
The ogre rumors went into overdrive after first surfacing Sept. 4 on the movie blog cinemablend.com, which claimed to have received an email from an unnamed studio insider stating Cruise was being considered for the role.
Well, I consider this to be good news. I am not a fan of the Shrek franchise and have no love for celebrity voices in animated film – so I think Tom made the correct choice. With his buzz coming off of Tropic Thunder I can see him wanting to delve into more comedy, but Shrek 4 would’ve been a waste. Shrek 4 many be better than 3; but I am certainly not holding my breath.

I think they should make Top Gun II with Shrek as the “Goose” side- kick for Mav. He could sing some Irishy-Ogre drinking songs to his Ogre chick while playing piano at the Navy lounge! Plus he would look great in the Helmet with his name written on it.
