Its a great story and worth telling, I just hope they did his legacy justice.
Can’t wait : )
Teaser looks great. Can’t wait to see this one !!
There’s also a TV movie (with the same title) directed by Sylvester Stallone that has been in production for so many years and it is finally completed. I heard it was footage of biggie and tupac mixed with some acting.
Yeah, I was going to ask if this was the SLY movie or not. Anyone have any ideas?
@ Danny
This one isn’t the sly movie. This one is directed by George Tillman Jr.
basically there’s two movies about big
im pumped for this, BIG is arguably the greatest rapper ever, & this trailer looks awesome. i hope they do him justice.
Biggie’s Ok. I’m more interested in seeing how they portray the whole Biggie vs. Pac feud because you just KNOW it’s in there. Otherwise it’d be like making a JFK biopic without mentioning his assasination or a Colonel Sanders biopic without mentioning KFC.
I hope this is a well put together production. Big E was a dominant force in hip-pop (haha) and should be honoured for his struggles to achieve such success. Too bad he isn’t around to see it…
ok….im not really sure why his story needs a movie behind it….besides getting killed his background was basically the same of over 60% of rappers now……ghetto youth uses his rap skills to excape the drug game, but he cant get rid of the street mentality…..
it kinda saddens me that whenever a rapper dies, my people put them on a kinda another level…yes biggie was a great rapper prolly one of the best but there are some i think are better…..dang shame these are our heroes
hey chris…when you speak of “your people” i really hope your not claiming to speak for a whole race…
alot of ppl consider biggie. to be a great lyricist and hit maker…not necessarily “OUR hero”
his untimely death, at the HIEGHT of his career, AFTER what happend to Tupac, is what fascinates so many about this particular rapper NOT becuz ppl may or may no consider him to be “the best rapper”….
to dismiss this story and his life becuz YOU boil his story down to being a “GHETTO youth , using his RAP SKILLS to escape the drug game” makes you sound ignorant and in NO way do i want Chris(the real one) speaking for me or “my people”..
i dont know whether or not this particular film will serve his story justice or not, but i dont think that means it doesnt deserve “a movie behind it”
long story short, CHRIS, you sound out of touch and you dont see caucasians in here speaking for every white person out there…so please, dont claim to know who every black persons “heroes” are…speak for yourself my friend…
sorry for the long post.PEACE
Let me just say that I always know when a post is by Doug… before seeing that it’s by Doug.
That’s a compliment, BTW.
Best,

thanks for the response….true shit, i did make a generalization talkin about his life story, but his rise to the rap forefront wasnt phenomenal by any means…..be honest is his story besides his death really that great…..
i say my people because it is black people who put Big on the proverbial pedestal hes on now….white people (as a whole) arent the ones saying he was assassinated and going crazy over his death…..its a shame that an artist was shot down, especially during his prime and after the death of another major artist….but during his life he didnt necessarily do anything to change the world….being a great rapper doesnt constitute almost martyrdom status in some black communities
in respect to the “our people” i use that term in relation to my race, being black its not really me speaking for black people….id rather say my people as im black also….also there are many people (my friends included) that feel that Big was one of their heroes….im not out of touch or tryin to speak for all of us….im just stating an opinion….but if 50 cent can get a movie Big might as well have one
Teaser looks real good. And as a white guy there’s no doubt in my mind biggie was killed in retaliation for tupac. Even if it wasn’t someone directly related to deathrow it was related. People don’t realize these fueds are for show more then anything. Usually when someone dies it’s someone random doing the killing. It’s almost like killing in the name of god. They say god wanted them to do it but come on
i thought the notorious film was not a good watch in any shape or form, it is boring, far far far from truth(which i presume it is meant to be a portrail of biggies actual life), badly acted and is the type of film where you are waiting for something to happen but it never does. when i say it is far from the truth i mean that some of the scenes never happened for instance the scene where tupac gets out of a car with a gun and shouts at biggie claiming he set him up. this never happened. in my opinion the film is biased, portraying biggie to be a victim in the whole east coast west coast thing. the performances were not good either the actor who plays biggie cannot rap at all. i personally didn’t think biggie could so maybe that’s why they got someone equally as bad. all i took from the film was a picture of massively fat biggie being a well brought up child, a good student at school who wanted to be bad so he started selling drugs. then who lets his friend go to prison for him. then has a load of kids with different woman who he mistreated, then made it big because p.diddy had a crush on him, then got scared of tupac then died. i don’t think his life really warrants a film in the first place. there was nothing really exceptional about him, the only reason why he is as big as he is today is because he had problems with tupac and the west coast and because he is dead. i think this would have been a better film if it wasn’t solely about biggie but about the hip hop dramas at the time. biggie is not interesting enough to have a film that is 2 hours long all about him. i wouldn’t recommend this film to anyone.
