We have news today that Scarlett Johansson And Matthew McConaughey may be teaming up in an adventure film. The scoop was spilled by co-star Michael Caine’s mouth via an interview with MTV:
“I have ‘Harry Brown,’” the actor said of his elderly vigilante film. “Then I’ll probably do a film with Scarlett Johansson. I forget what it’s called. It’s an adventure film. I was told yesterday that they have Matthew McConaughey as the guy. I’ve got go home and read it again. It’s a heist adventure film.”
Well this isn’t very convincing news. Michael Caine can’t remember the name of the project and being told McConaughey is “the guy” doesn’t sound like a statement of fact. If all three actors are in an adventure film, it could be a lot of fun. We just have to wait for further new to see exactly what Cain was talking about.

I’m interested in anything Michael Caine is in. He has a very wide range as an actor and exudes charisma — the old British dude kind of charisma that if they could bottle it would put Old Spice out of business.
But I’d rather he make Roundtable instead, “Lost” and ” Y the Last Man” scribe Brian K. Vaughan’s modern day supernatural comedy that basically aims to be a British Ghostbusters with Caine, Simon Pegg and Ricky Gervais.
Agreed – Caine is amazingly versatile and I’ll watch anything he’s in. Though he did go through a spell of starring in some pretty bad films in the ’90s to pay the rent…
I love him in the Batman films. Perfect casting!
I’m also a M/C fan, and I think that it’d be good fun to see an action/adventure flick with him, McConnaghey and Johansson. The fact that Mr. Cain (isn’t he in his 70’s?) can’t remember the title doesn’t mean anything. I’m sure he has many scripts he’s reading through and doesn’t remember them all. He’s also calling M/M “the guy” because isn’t that an easy way of saying “the lead in the flick”? Just a thought…
I researched in imdb, and I’ve discovered the film is called “Brilliant.” Being a heist film, it sounds okay. I agree; Caine is good in anything. I saw this 1.5 hour movie called “Sleuth” a few months back. It was awful, but Caine was still awesome. He was a nice choice for Alfred. I liked the old man from the older ones(Batman, Batman Returns, Forever, & *blech* Batman & Robin). Michael Caine in an adventure movie. Sounds okay. I mean, he’s no Sean Connery who was still fighting at age 73 in that disgusting LXG. I hope Matt doesn’t play the stoner-tard he plays in every other movie. If he can reproduce Van Zan(Reign of Fire), then I will consider him an actor. Scarlet… she’s got a kind of Hitchcock feel to her, she can act, plus she’s a fucking bombshell… I can say I’ll be looking forward to “Brilliant.”
