  1. To tell you the truth, I watched Star Wars Ep. 1 this week, and I didn’t find Jar Jar as annoying…as the other gungans. Boss Nass is terrible.

  2. Where is Aug. 21 webcast? Some of us have to work ya know and can’t watch the 5:00 pm PDT live webcast, so we wait and wait and wait each evening until the webcast is posted. Have some pity on us–there’s absolutely nothing on TV except Olympics reruns.

  3. The original Star Wars films were aimed at kids too. The difference is they were good films.

Final Fantasy: Advent Children is a good video game movie.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly should never be remade. Most of the movie going public haven’t seen it? Fuck them! Kick them in the balls. Don’t remake the film because some people are too retarded to watch a great movie. The story in GBU is decent not great. It is not what makes the film great and it is not worth retelling. The reason why GBU is great is because of Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone and no one on this planet could tell that story better than they did.

Changing a character’s main traits (gender, race) always impacts their character. It is these things that inform who were are. There’s no point casting a black man as Face and saying “This is Face”. No, he’s not Face. If you want to cast a black actor then create a new character. Anyway I’m not happy with this urban direction The A-Team seems to be headed in. I doubt it will capture the charm of the TV show.

  4. John, this is only a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt if that, but I have heard rumblings that the star wars franchise could be seeing more ‘real’ film sequels down the line, and these could be written and directed by others since Lucas has declared himself done with writing and directing star wars.

Some of the plots listed were (the time period between 3 and 4, and something called the Thrawn trilogy, and a few other stories from the expanded universe material.)

  5. Boy that “battered spouse” analogy was very insightful John. I hadn’t thought of that aspect of it, but it seems to fit all too well.

As a massive Star Wars fan I feel your pain, but now console myself with EU material written by people who have actual writing talent. This keeps my heart beating with affection for Star Wars.

One point, I took my nephews to see this film. EVEN LITTLE CHILDREN could tell that this movie was garbage as my nephews, who also love Star Wars, were thoroughly unimpressed. So even IF this was a “kid’s film”, the “target audience” isn’t even falling for this garbage.

  6. Hey Great show. I also have become a huge Watchmen fan and would love to hear it talked about more on Uncut. I know there are fans out there who aren’t buying into the hype of all the excitement that just a trailer has produced, but I’m going to keep faith in Zack to produce a great film.

If done properly the Watchmen film will be huge, but we will have to wait and see.

I’m cautiously hopeful, I would love to hear John and Doug’s opinion on the making the film and if either of them has read what has recently become my favorite book of All time.

Thanks and can’t wait for tomorrows show.

  7. Yeah, if Fox can prove they actually do own the rights, then I have to agree that WB owes them part of the profits the movie makes. If they prove they do own the rights, then I hope they win.

But fuck you John, Mr.T forever! :)

  8. Just to clairify not every Watchmen fan is excited about this movie. I love Watchmen, it is my favorite book of all time but i have no intrest in seeing this movie ever! It should of never been made in the first place. I am selfishly rooting for Fox in this situation.
