The Aircraft Carrier That Couldn’t

Aircraftcarrier

According to comingsoon a transforming aircraft carrier (Omega Supreme?) was being considered for the first Transformers film. When producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura was recently asked if this robot would appear in the sequel, he said “that wouldn’t be the case.”

I wonder if this behemoth was going to be an Autobot or Decepticon? Would it be the Decepticons water lair or one of the big Autobots? If you have the skinny - please shoot it our way.

For those of you that would like to see concept drawings of this beast, follow the link to artist Tim Flattery’s site.

Definitely “Decepticon”; all the others were military vehicles.

  2. omega supreme never was an aircraft carrier, broadside was and he was an autobot!

To be honest seeing a giant robot maybe 10 times larger then the car sized Tranformers sounds (to me) a little over the top. I

To be honest seeing a giant robot maybe 10 times larger then the car sized Transformers sounds (to me) a little over the top. It would make all the others useless. Cause I’m pretty sure just one Aircraft Carrier sized transformer could easily destroy a few countries.

I have no idea what you just said dude.

Somewhere on this site there’s a comment left by me saying the only thing that would make me interested in Transformers 2 is an aircraft carrier decepticon.

Omega Supreme was originally an Autobot. He transformed into a rocket base. According to Wikipedia, “Omega splits his body into three components – his body becomes a laser cannon tank, which acts as perimeter patrol for the rocket base formed by his legs and backpack, which is in turn capable of launching his third component, a rocket formed from his arms, into planetary orbit.” I would be great to see this transform in the movie.

In Transformers: Armada, Tidal Wave was a gigantic Transformer who had won a massive victory for the Decepticons on the planet Devola before being summoned to Earth by Thrust. Possessing great strength and massive size, his brain power was much less pronounced, and was known for droningly repeating his own name, usually in the form of “Tidal Wave… Tidal Wave…”, and referring to himself in the 3rd person. He had the ability to combine with Megatron to give his master a more powerful form (known as Burning Megatron), and could separate into three smaller ships called the Dark Fleet. His main alternate mode was a massive aircraft carrier.

I think an aircraft carrier would be overkill for the TF world also. The problem I see, with having too many overtly powerful robots would be the complete and quick annihilation of Earth in a few minutes. The battle on a much larger Cybertron could be feasible though…

Interestingly, this pic reminds me of Ravage for some strange reason: http://timflattery.com/transformers/popup.html
