Fanboys is an Official Word

Posted by on 07. 07. 2008in News Chat

Look it up in your own Funk and Wagnalls! Or rather you can find it in the Merriam Webster’s dictionary. Find what? Find a fanboy that is!

/Film says:

The word “Fanboy” is one of the hundred or so new words that Merriam-Webster has decided to add to their Collegiate Dictionary this year. “a boy who is an enthusiastic devotee (as of comics or movies)”

So yet another geek term finds its way into the official lexicon of the English language.

Interestingly enough “fangirl” didn’t make the list. But like Trekkies who have lost their virginity, they are a rare breed and apparently not popular enough to become legitimate.

Besides any reason at all to show that picture of Kirsten Bell in the Slave Leia outfit (from the upcoming movie Fanboys – someday) is enough to celebrate !

That movie shall never see the light of day. I’d forgotten all about it.
