The Strangers 2?

By Doug - June 11, 2008 - 10:25 America/Montreal

Strangers-FirstlookIt looks like talks have already begun on a followup to The Strangers. We get the following news from our friends at bloody-disgusting:

This summer Rogue Pictures’ The Strangers shocked us all by taking on some massive summer blockbusters and still pulling off a successful opening weekend at the box office, so much so that we heard talk of a sequel has already begun. This weekend we put out some calls and have confirmed 100% that there is in fact talk of bringing the hooded villains back to the big screen.

I didn’t get a chance to catch this film, but TMB’s own Johnny C didn’t care for it much at all. To me, this seems like a one shot kind of film..although I guess the creepy drifters could just find another family to terrorize. I just don’t know how exciting watching the same thing happen twice would be. Maybe the follow up will be a prequel – who knows.

For those of you that have seen the film – would you be game for a sequel?

  1. Kevin says:

I saw this movie last weekend and thought it was really good. Moved at a really good pace and there were about 5 really “holy fuck that gives me the creeps” scenes

does it need a sequel? no

  2. Bishop says:

The people seem to be pretty divided on this one. I myself loved the film, despite being surrounded by a sea of 16 year old texting trollops and thugs. Sure you pretty much knew what was going to happen and there was no plot but the film itself was something that B.W.E. and I just enjoyed the hell out of.

As far as a sequel goes, well, it surely isn’t that surprising considering the way the movie unfurled as it did. With that in mind, I don’t think it means there SHOULD be a sequel. I thought that if they left it open like that it may keep the spirit of the movie a little less tainted, but, go figure, money = sequels.

  3. The film wasn’t a high price ticket, it is a genre film, they have two main characters (played by name actors) that are killed off, and the film made some profit. The collective minds would have to think sequel, prequel…something…

I can’t see prequel or sequel in this. The film does not really lead itself into one.
    But I have another suggestion.

Sign Bryan Bertino to (at least) a two-picture deal. Since his first sold script (a Nichol Fellowship winner at that) is also the first film he’s directed- and the studio knowingly puts it smack dab in the early summer movies?? With critics screenings? That’s what I call confidence (of course, the film *did* have viral marketing for about a year) …I’d like to see his next film.

BTW, in case folks are keeping tally:

    Bryan Bertino 1
    Neil Blomkamp 0

  4. John says:

Man… I just think this would be a giant mistake, although to be fair they did leave it open for a sequel

    • daylan says:

I would like to see a sequel but i do not know if i especially would like it if liv tyler came back i like her she is a fantastic actor and did a brilliant job in the first one but i also think that if there were to be a sequel then i think the killers should come back and not liv tyler she is dead already do you remember now

    • mark says:

she didnt die at the end she came back to life when the little boys came into the house. i think it would be cool if they made a second one but i think it should be like liv’s character hunting them down since she has seen their faces and she puts them through the same torture that would be a lot cooler than them doing the same thing with the same villians but a different family

  5. Blake says:

I found the movie to be the scariest/creepiest scary movie I’ve ever watched…NOT to be mistaken with the BEST scary movie I’ve seen, because it’s not. I think it had a lot going for it for sheer suspense/creep factors, though.

Does it need a sequel? Agreeing with everyone else thus far; no, it certainly doesn’t. Especially since it’s based off true events or whatever they said — unless more killings took place that were presumed to be by the same killers.

The ending was completely set up for a sequel, but I don’t think it will be exciting anymore unless they meet some smarter prey who really turn things around. A prequel may be interesting to see what created the killers, but it would just seem awkward coming off this ending.

Leave it alone and be happy with a pretty decent movie that kids can watch for Halloweens to come…(I know they won’t).

  6. Sahil says:

I havent seen this movie yet but I am not suprised that they are considering doing a sequel. Looks like the production budget was only $9M and it has grossed over $39M worldwide. I dont understand how a movie with Liv Tyler and Scott Speedsman only cost $9M to make when a movie like Prom Night (2008) with no major starts cost $20M to make.
This could be the next Final Destination series.

  7. bob says:

(Type your comment here. Make sure you’ve read the commenting rules before doing so) I saw the Strangers and thot it was a very scary experience. I kind of have an i dea of someting they cud do 4 a sequel.Liv Tylers character could like go completely pshyco and like carry around her dead fiances shotgun everywhere. She shoots someone she thinks is one of the strangers. She gets put in a mental facility and then the strangers come for her.

  8. kaylyn says:

scariest movie I’ve ever seeennn !!!

  9. Ashley says:

CRAPPIEST MOVIE EVER! Give me a break, same poop different toliet. Ugh, can someone please make an original, scary movie. It’s been years now. Crap.

  10. ashley says:

My friend and I saw the movie strangers last weekend and it was scary and cool. We hope there is a strangers 2!

  11. Hillary says:

While the movie was creepy, I’m not sure a sequel would benefit the story. The movie gets alot of its creepyness from the fact that its based on true events and at the end, the killers are still at large. BUT, if there were to be a sequal, I think this is what would happen: At the very end of the movie, Liv tyler has a brief moment of life at the end, my prediction is that she magically survives and then comes back with a vengence and hunts down the creepy dudes and gets her revenge.

  13. Lisa says:

I think the movie was very good and there will be a stangers part 2. I hope i will be, because I want to find out who the killer really is!!!!!!!!!!

  14. perla says:

I seen this movie today and I reallly liked it. it scared da crap outta me. can’t wait for the second one. hurry up and make it.

  15. fred says:

The Strangers was by far the scariest movie of the DECADE. It was completely horrifying! It had a very real feeling to it. It seemed like the type of thing that cud happen 2 u at anytime, much like the original Halloween. Having said that, im not sure id love 2 see a sequel. If they got Liv Tyler to come bak 4 it… count me in. Even if they dont ill prolly still go c it. But i hate it when they leave a character alive and then ignore tem for a sequel or kill them off in the first 5 minutes

  16. Kaitlin says:

This movie is really good! It really creeps me out mostly because it could really happen, The utter violence and cruel sadism of the strangers absolutely terrified me. This movie didn’t need to use blood and gore to make it horrifying. The acting left a little to be desired, but that comes with the territory of a scary movie.. at least modern day ones. I don’t however believe they should make a sequel to this. It’s much more intense without anymore explanation, I think a sequel would be pure garbage.. absolutely horrible idea.

  17. Nexone says:

I honesty don’t know about a sequel. Seems like a “Friday the Thirteenth” sitaution:
    A. small budget
    B. profit
    C.first movie not too special
    D.second movie does something
    E. bad critical reception

Strangers made like $40M worldwide with a budget of $9M. Not too bad.

  18. Josh says:

I just saw the film and as soon as at finished me and my friend couldn’t stop talking about things like maybe they’re jealous , maybe they’re being forced to do it , maybe they’re a family .It left with a lot of loose ends with the strangers and I think the second film should give more detail about the strangers as they were left very mysterious.

  19. Amber says:

I saw this film yesterday and it proper scared me, i swear i must of screamed like 3 times at least.
Although it was not the best horror/thriller film i’ve seen, but without doubt i think it would make sense to do a sequel or a prequel so that mabye we can gain an understanding of the killers.
Plus i really want to see the faces under the masks!

  20. josh says:

(Type your comment here. Make sure you’ve read the commenting rules before doing so)just saw this movie yesterday and i have to it had few scares but was not very original at all i think you should defiantly make a sequel considering u left the movie completely open i think the first movie would be a lot better if they would have explained more but if u make a sequel or a preqeul and u explain more and give reasoning i could see my self becoming a fan of this series

  21. emma says:

really slow Not at all scary and disappointing

  22. Jennifer says:

In my opinion this movie was one of the scariest i’ve seen, but I think it depends what scares you.

I think a prequel would be the best option but it’s not really neccesary and I think it might spoil the first. I think it’s alot like texas chain saw massacre in a way.
It definately doesn’t need reasoning, I think that would definately spoil the whole idea. The fact the killers have no known reason for what they do makes it as scary as it is and please don’t show me their faces, I don’t want to see they are just everyday people. The masks, especially the bag which the man wears, is the scariest part!!

  23. dre says:

i loved the movie,,,,,it scared the crap out of me!

    i dont want a sequel……

    I WANT A PREQUEL!

  24. e says:

i love The Strangers, the best movie ever… i think it would be sooo cool if they made a sequel or prequel. I just give the director + writer of the movie credit because any one who can scare everyone so bad that they cant sleep is good. Good Luck with the movie!

  25. Luke says:

By far one of the creepiest I’ve felt this summer, though I’ve yet to see Mirrors so it pales in comparison.

I definitely think the movie should stick to the title. Strangers. They’re 3 strangers. We don’t know them, we don’t know any history of them, and they’re in masks. They kill these 2 in a very eerie way. What makes it so eerie is that we can’t see their face. We can’t judge them since I’m sure you usually judge people by looking into their eyes and seeing their facial expressions. Leaving one monotone expression says more than enough (The masks is what I mean).

Making them known and giving them history completely ruins the whole basis of the movie. These people wouldn’t be strangers anymore.

A prequel? If anything, this would be the way to go. Sequel? Nada! Worst idea ever. A prequel COULD work, but a sequel would ruin the whole basis of the movie.

The last line said by the doll-face killer is quite the mind boggler; “Don’t worry. It’ll get easier.”.

All we have is a voice, a mask, and the grueling sadism to match to these 3 strangers.

What makes it so frightening is the fact that this could actually happen. Such an ordinary thing like spending a night at a cottage or in your house in the country, turned into something worse. It’s so scary to think about it – isn’t it? That a killer could be standing around a corner with a mask on, silently watching me type this.

  26. Chuck says:

I saw this movie the weekend it opened and I loved it. I love any movie that makes you think to yourself, “This could really happen” I went home and checked every room and closet in my house.

  27. Mr Oizo says:

Just watched The Strangers and was really impressed. Got a few good scares out it and the fact that the main characters died in the end was a bonus. Not the scariest I’ve seen, that was Blair Witch. And not the best I’ve seen, that award goes to Evil Dead but up there with the best. As for a sequel/prequel, no, leave it as a one off. Don’t spoil a good thing.

  28. james says:

I thought this film was a better film than vacancy. I most liked the fact you never seen there faces at the end. Along with fact nothing much was explained. If there is another then the women is not in it,she’s dead as she only had a small second of life left. In the 2nd one I want to see them attacking a group of 5 but only thinking it’s 2 because the others are asleep. I want them to explain why they do what they do along with see the faces. Also they have to die I don’t think a 3rd wud work

  29. Sara says:

It was very creepy, and i can appreciate that about a movie mostly because it was based on a true story. HOWEVER it was incredibly annoying for the fact that they let 3 UNARMED people, get into their house and KILL them, all whilst they had a SHOTGUN with an abundance of AMMO. SERIOUSLY. If you cant load a shotgun, and you are a man, then you deserve to die. and if i were in this situation, and i DIDNT know how to load a gun, TRIAL AND ERROR. lock yourself in a room, and learn QUICKLY. come on now. that was just annoying, and yes i realize that it is a movie and if they would have just shot and killed them that there would be no movie…but still, thats how i feel. and as far as a second one, eh, it will be the same thing over again.

  30. Brad says:

This film is a definite cut above other horror films. Such a simple premise but exectued so well makes it terrifying. It’s been a while since I’ve been to see a horror film in the cinema that had the audience (myself included) screaming at numerous points throughout. A sequel would be good, a prequel would be interesting although I feel the ambiguity of the strangers motives gives the film one of its main scare factor yet their backstory and possibly their demise at the hands of Liv Tyler would be quite cool. If a sequel came out I would watch it and hope that it wasnt shit.

  31. Brad says:

The guy snuck up behind him and took the gun. He knew how to load a gun but the guy knocked him out from behind and stole it. End of that plan.

  32. hollie says:

    i thought the moviewas excellent!!

but i do think that if they make a sequal it would no way near be as good and make the whole 2 films disapointing!!

i dont kno how they could top it to be honest, but im sure they will make another one and i just hope they prove me wrong and actually make a really good horror sequal, which in my opinion hasn’t happened before!! unless we count saw because thay are all amazin but thats just another discussion!!!

  33. Danielle says:

I watched this last night, it was really jumpy and i would definately go and see the sequel.

  34. Zack says:

I thought this movie was excellent. There haven’t been many good horror movies in a long time and this one was a great surprise. I especially enjoyed the fact that the movie didn’t rely on blood and gore to scare the audience.

However, I have mixed feelings on a sequel. It might be nice to have them explain the motives, but I feel like we would probably be seeing the same movie over again.

  35. Carly says:

Ok, I have just seen the film and wanted to see people’s opinions of whether or not there should be a sequel/prequel. I read that the movie should stick to it’s title, “the strangers” and keep their identities anonymous. But isnt the exitement of finding out what makes the three people killers what will drag us back to the cinema for a second time round? Moreover, what happens to Liv Tyler? She isnt dead! Does she survive? What becomes of her, and what is her mental state if she does survive? All these questions were left unanswered in the film – and for a good reason. A second film is clerly planned. However – I think the only question is will it be a sequel or a prequel? Likely answer is the next film goes back to look at Liv Tyler, and answers the question of what happened to her. At the same time, it takes a look back in time at the three killers and their history. Or maybe this is the beginning of a triolgy, whereby in the second film it still keeps us guessing as to who the ’strangers’ are, then finally revelals it in the final instalment? It seems the most likely idea!

  36. John says:

    I’m ready for a sequel.
The ending definitely left it open for one.
At the end, if you remember, Liv’s character was still alive.
Maybe she seeks to go and get revenge?
I can see it now, Liv Tyler makes a mask and goes and seeks out the three creeps after the police are unsuccessful.
At first, it seems the hunters have become the hunted, but then, things seem to turn back around.

  37. robert says:

yes it was a good film, i seen it twice and even the second time it scared the shite out of me!!! but a sequal.. well if they can pull that off then they deserve a fookin oscar man.. would be very hard pulling that off without having people comming out beating the s.hit out of the ticket guy for even selling them the ticket.. will it .. wont it?? we will just have to see..!! and if they do and we ask why… they will say BECAUSE YOU WERE HOME!!! (and we wanted to get you off your ass for a while) and then the zebrah will come back and eat every one) brb have to go take my pill…

  38. mel says:

HECK YESS, THEY NEED TO MAKE A PART 2
ignore all the negative people, A PART 2 will make big bucks in the box offices

  39. Jared says:

I loved this movie a lot. It’s my new favorite horror movie. I would love to see another sequel maybe 2. I think between the first and the second 1 year should have passed and the killers are being talked about on the news and have killed at least 10 other people.

  40. Ryan says:

To me the movie just didnt live up to my expectations.
Does it need a sequel? No
Would I see the sequel? Honestly, yes.

  41. Laura (14) says:

    :O
That film was just simply the best. I was terrified at most of it but plucked up the courage to stop drawing at the window.
That honestly was the best!! Film yet.
I really hope there is a Strangers 2
Where she is took to hospital and at night they come after her again to finish her off, that would just be amazing. Especially at night in a hospital. My favourite horror at the moment.

  42. Nick says:

As previously stated, I can’t think of a way in which the producers could find a way to bring a new plot to this horrifying story. That being said, I do believe there will be a sequel because at the end of the first film, the killers said something along the lines of, “it will be easier NEXT time…”

Would I see the sequel? Probably

  43. Jason says:

I think it was a solid movie and it was based on charles mansons faimly a group of his followers which killed a couple and they also commited another group murder at a actresses home so yes to a sequel

  44. Lily says:

    good news for you guys:

    there is a sequel.

  45. Ben says:

Pretty Shitty movie… No need of a crap next time.

  46. MArk says:

Don’t fall prey for such a piece of trash… Trailer’s good but movie actually sucks…

By the end of the movie, you’ll be like…

    Gimme my money back… asshole

  47. there defenetly need to have a second one that was the best scary movie ive ever seen i literally coudnt sleeep at all. and i love scary movies there should be a second one but no more than that! and i love it how the guy realises shes wearing the ring cute! but he dies which sucks! LOVED TEH MOVIE

  48. Slackie Onassis says:

It’s a good movie; not a perfect one, but it’s scary as hell, makes great use of silence and sound and camera angles to crank up the mood into stark terror.

I think there’d be diminishing returns on a sequel, but after the success of the first, the pressure’s surely on for another low-cost, high-profit killfest. But I think it wouldn’t work nearly as well, would be forced to either repeat the approach of the first, or else go in some other, less-desirable place.

  49. Ryan says:

im 9 years old and it scared the crap out of me the, story for the rumored 2nd film.Liv Tyler goes into a colma and at night she breaks out goes around looking for the people who killed her boyfriend, finds them and i guess its downhill from there for her. i dont know how you could end it though.

  50. james mcavoy says:

i didn’t saw this movie yet but i think it must be very scary because liv tyler was so hot

  51. Jeff says:

I watched the strangers the other night and with all of its faults it stays with you, Im no wimp when it comes to scary movies but I kept seeing that sack mask in my minds eye after I got home and it really creeped me out, I live in a condo and kept checking the doors and closets, it just really creeped me out. I agree that Liv and Scott should have been played more tough, but since we don’t really know all the details perhaps that is not how it really happened. Perhaps the sequel would have flashbacks of what really happened through the eyes of the killers, that would be a twist, the same movie just shot through the killers point of view. I hated the ending when Liv grabs the boys arm and screams it would have been better if she just moved a little or groaned thus causing the boys to call 911. I also thought it should not have shown the killers stab Scott and Liv, the camera should have panned away just at that moment so you would only hear what is happening and you would not know exactly what they did. I think a crane shot moving backwards from the house out to the road would have been good, its morning and you would see cars going by on the road, knowing they are being killed right then, so close to help yet so far, that would have been much more creepy, This crap really does happen and although this story is based on several true stories I think a sequel if done right will work,

  52. martin says:

it will be amazing i love the first 1

  53. Blake Summers says:

The Strangers was one of the most realistic creepiest movies that I have seen in a long time. The fact that the Strangers wouldnt talk or anything just gave me the chills.

The movie was set for a Sequel because at the end, the strangers say “It will be easier next time.”
I dont think it will be as good as the 1st one but these kind of movies I enjoy watching over and over again.

  54. Pete says:

I thought it was a pretty good movie. 4 or 5 moments of like oh shit, even though you knew it was coming. LOL

If you read up on this movie it wasn’t actually inspired by events just like this, it was actually off the Manson family killings and the director had an experience like this as a child. Where someone knocked on his door to see if they were home and then the next morning they found out there was a bunch of home burglaries in the neighborhood.

Part 2 – sure why not….can always use a good scare!!

  55. Andrea says:

This is a dumb movie. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY RENTING IT. Luckily I had a free code for Redbox to rent it for free. The movie kept dragging on and dragging on. The guy didn’t even know how to load a gun!! Seriously what is up wtih that?? All MEN know how to load a gun. If it was me and I didn’t know how to load it, I’d learn real quick. They should have left in the car as soon as they could, instead of sitting at the table looking at her hand. Dumb movie. I don’t see how people think this is the “scariest movie I’ve ever seen!”. Like seriously, are you 13 and you have no taste in movies? DUMB MOVIE, there should NOT be a prequel or sequel made to this.

  56. Ms. Fincannon O.o says:

I saw “The Strangers” last month or so. And it scarred the bejesus out of me. But I don’t think theres room for a sequel. I guess it could be acomplished. But I do admit I would go see it. Everything deserves a try.

  57. Tanner says:

Well, The Strangers has easily become one of my favorite movies. I was fifteen when I saw the first trailer for the movie and I don’t easily scare, but as soon as the masked man drifted onto the screen behind the women in the kitchen area, I actually covered my eyes for a split second. The music they use in the movie, the sound affects, the timing, even the application of fake blood is all perfect! Now, I’m a fan of the SAW series… And I fully support ALL sequels to the SAWs, even though my friends call me crazy for it. But I have to say, the writers/producers of The Strangers could be making a huge mistake here. Of course I’m going to see the movie either way, and I do think they’ll make a fair amount of money off of the sequel (or prequel, whichever is to come), but there’s always the principal of ruining the legacy of The Strangers concept itself… So they’re really putting a lot on the line here. I just hope that they don’t let the fans down.
    -Tanner

  58. ben says:

if they make a sequels it will be a cheap horror movies to make money like the saw movies

  59. Kevin says:

I saw the Strangers on DVD and it scared the crap out of me. Hope there is a second one! Thought the first one was very very good.

  60. Brandon says:

I watched The Strangers last night, in bed, on DVD.
And I have to say, I spent a fair amount of the time watching the film, looking behind the TV just in case any masked men or women were standing around watching me watching them.

Not only that, but usually I’m a wuss when it comes to films like these – Sometimes I’d go so far as to fast-forward through the suspenseful bits, if the fast forward button is easily accessible. I found myself doing that A LOT through this movie. I suck.

This movie utilized silence in wonderful ways, and I felt it the ’strangers in the background’ effects were terrifying – such as how you see a masked figure standing in the background darkness whilst Liv Tyler’s character stands around in the foreground, smoking a cigarette.
This felt reminiscent of the scene in Halloween where Laurie and Tommy walk along the road talking about the Boogeyman, and you see Michael Myers stalking them in the background.

Both scenes gave you the sudden realization that a murderous catastrophe was imminent, that it would be difficult for the characters to escape from.

One thing I didn’t like, was how quickly they jumped into the final. There was almost no lead-up to the climax.

It seemed almost amusing to me how typical the final scenes were, in relation to many other films out today. As soon as I saw Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman tied to chairs, I immediately thought, “Here we go, the torture scene. Lovely.”

A sequel would be amazing, but I doubt a prequel would be necessary – it would take away from the whole point of the film.
The masked characters would no longer be ‘The Strangers’ that made the whole film work. Unless you titled the second film something like “The Strangers 2: Unmasked.” – THAT would work.

Overall, a great film. I’m looking forward to watching it again – I’m almost in admiration of the antagonists, really.

  61. Moates says:

just has to watch this film with my girlfriend,

better than i expected to be honest, but nothing more than a simple jump film, little story, little more to it than a few scares,

probably worth a watch, but not a sequel film!

  62. Megan Vickers says:

I think in the strangers 2 they should show a man fully nude. I think it should show his penis to. But not put nudity on the back of the box rating

  63. Warren says:

I loved the strangers, and I can’t wait for the 2nd one. I wish we didn’t have to wait till next year to see it!!!

  64. NaomiPepper says:

i’ve seen the film and it scared the lif outta me. it was really good.
id love to see what wud happen next and what the sequel would be like but then again it dosnt matter whether there is a sequel or not. the film is fine by itself.
though at the end of the movie when the strangers stop the car there is the line “it will be easier next time” which suggests that they will strike again…o_0

  65. Jaymz says:

actually, theyre working on the strangers 2 right now, and its being set in a trailer park. SO AWESOME!!!!!

  66. Timothy says:

The strangers was one of my favorite scary movies. You get so many of the same old hollywood horror, I liked the way this movie felt real, but also had almost an independant movie feel.
Moving on to a sequel? I hear Liv Tyler will be back along with the killers. It could go into a sequel, but it will have to be completely different. The reason the strangers was a hit was because it was completely differnt. No hollywood animations, just cheap thrills, which seemed real life.
I think prequel should have been the way to go, because there is no reasoning for the begining. No reasoning for the killings. Thats the path I would have taken if i wrote the second one.

  67. Roxanne says:

This movie ROCKSSSSSSSS my SOCKSSSSS off!!!!! my number is 276-275-3245

  68. Roxanne says:

okay so i really really really really love this freaking movie. it was the best movie my EYE has ever seen. i was so scared that i craped on myself right in the theatre and everyone got up and left.

well i really liked the part where they stabbed the people becuause i like watching people get murdered and stabbed and hurt thats why i lve in the sewers of detroit. oh and my number is 276-275-3245

  69. Mark says:

OK, I always wanted them to go knocking on someone’s door in, NYC, and then see what happens. Let them knock on “some lunatic’s door!!” Someone who will mix it up a bit!! if it is true, the next movie is in a trailer park, please let them battle with some gun happy, crazy resident there!!!! Enough of these horror flicks with “weak” people being picked on!! I did like the first one I must say. Can’t wait for 2!

watched it yesterday ……………rubbish you spend over an hour of your life with a man who looks like hes off little planet kill two ARMED people with a knife and there excuse for doing it is “because you were home”

the person who wrote this script clearly has the IQ of a tomato

honestly- this is my favorite scary movie of all time. it deals with my biggest fear and the film seemed realistic and i was freaked out for weeks after i saw it. from the minute the movie ended my boyfriend and i started discussing a sequel. the movie ends with liv tyler screaming – so she didn’t die [ just a comment to whoever said she did ] and i think they could make a pretty fucking amazing sequel if they play their cards right. it cant be tacky which is why i think so many people are opposed to the sequel. it cant just be different family same event etc. i think a cool idea would be liv tyler trying to move on with her life- and then hearing about similar events happening around her – put a mix of halloween meets the hills have eyes 1 [the ending] and it could be magnificent. to try and make another horrific film would be roadkill but to leave the audience with what they would love to do- and that would be to rip the fuckers apart i think could be an awesome sequel.

I agree, Liv tyler’s character should “somehow”hear of another incident and pursue. But just like the movie “Funny Games”, the killers attack the weak. Like i wrote 2 comments up, WE NEED A BATTLE! Just let them knock on “the wrong person’s door!” Let them go to any “big city” and try what they did. Remember “The Devil’s Rejects”, those 2 bounty hunters mixed it up with the killers. That is what we need!

my housemate and i just watched it tonight… and it definatly leaves the lead into a sequel… as u dont see the faces of the killers even after they remove thier masks..and the woman killer states to the other female that next time will be much easier.. definatly needs to be a sequel coz i wanna see who the killers are and find out why they are doing what they are

  74. Shark says:

Was a horribly predictable movie(just like all modern horrors). I wouldn’t mind a sequel to explain the killers. But they can’t really do that without knowing who they are in the true events. I’m not sure on the case files for this though, so it might be possible.

i think they should make a sequel but make it so its the same kilelrs , different family/
