The Day The Earth Stood Still Poster

We have scored the first poster for The Day The Earth Stood Still thanks to our friends over at moviesonline:

I am not looking forward to this film, I think the original should be left well enough alone. I do however, like this poster. Humanity is confronted with a revelation that demands their attention and the shadows of the throngs form the black background for the title of the film.

This is a great image for the film and the artist responsible should be pleased with their work.

Decent typography on a poster for a change.
Image is a bit too close encounters though.

They shoulda just put ‘Klatu verata niktu’ on it ;)

I can’t believe they got Tyler Bates to do the score to this movie.

Bernard Hermann is leaps and bounds ahead of Tyler Bates. I wish they would have gotten someone else to do the music for this film.

  5. The poster looks like it could say 4400… heck, it looks like a shot from 4400, and very War of the Worlds. Makes me a bit nervous.

It’s a cool poster, but surely this is just a blatant rip-off of that classic shot from Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Some originality would be desirable for this…
