We haven’t heard a lot of news about the reboot of Robocop, but this is a strong hint that its on its way!

The rumors of a RoboCop remake first began in March, when MGM said that RoboCop was a franchise that they wanted to bring back. Considering RoboCop’s screenwriter Ed Neumeier is completely clueless, it’s likely MGM is getting this moving without the involvement of anyone from the original three films. And with that introduction, take a look at this banner from the floor of the Licensing International Expo 2008.
According to this promo image, I would deduce that they are at least visually staying true to the original.
I would assume there would be some updating of the technology side of things so they are not dated into the same “tech talk” we experienced in the 80s. How they deviate from the original in the remake we will find out as more information is released.
I just hope we are exposed to some of the trademark elements of the originator with ads for the SUX6000 and given the opportunity to “buy that for a dollar”
Let the speculation begin.

Considering this was hanging at the official product Licensing Expo… I would imagine its not fake.
The basis of that Expo is to pimp out your franchises so others can buy the rights to merchandise it into lunchboxes etc.

Yes, it looks way too simple. There is a reason for that. It isn’t an official poster or banner for the film. There is *no* cast/rumored cast. There is no script, and no director has signed on yet. It is simply, a promotional poster/banner to a (remade) film which may or may not happen.
Let me put it this way.
All they are doing is generating interest for the possible remake. That’s it. Nothing more, nothing less.
Remember Fox’s ‘Alien 3′ -The Bitch Is Back?
Remember Sony’s ‘Spider-Man’ shitty looking promo ads with Green Goblin AND Doctor Octopus?
Remember Revenge of The Nerds remake poster?
Remember the first ‘Ghost Rider’ one sheet at Cannes when Stephen Norrington was attached?
In any case, that ^^^^^ does look like a piece of crap, but maybe for one or two promotional events, it might just do the trick.

For an alleged “teaser poster”, it’s pretty stupid looking…..But look on the bright side; at least it’s better looking then that DragonBall teaser poster that was on here about a month or so ago :P
But I’m kinda glad they’re cleaning the slate for the Robocop series. After that ABYSMAL Robocop 3, there’s no way a sequel would generate any public interest.

This just proves my theory that the people behind this remake don’t get what made the original RoboCop so awesome, and every subsequent sequel/tv show etc SUCK.
Red, glowing visor? He’s not Cyclops from X-Men. Yet almost every single shitty RoboCop action figure and toy after the first movie had a light up red visor. Why? Because stupid people, who don’t get RoboCop think that a cool glowing laser gun eye would look great on a robotic policeman.
This movie will suck. Please… please don’t get made.
