It think it should be the best nominees period. If that means 5 songs from the same movie then so be it. I do think they need to look at their criteria for songs and soundtracks though. Last awards there was some outstanding music by Eddie Vedder (Into the Wild) and Johnny Greenwood (There Will Be Blood) that was ruled ineligible. The excuse given was that the “the score was too song based". Seems like something they just pulled out of their asses.

I agree with Scott, limit the songs being broadcast to one per movie so the show doesn't turn into a commercial.

Personally, I don't understand why someone would want to have more than one song from a movie nominated, it will split your votes and you'll lose every time. Think about it, those three Enchanted songs together probably received waaaay more votes than the winning song, but between them they needed at least three times as many votes as the next closest nominee for one of them to win.

That's a good move, but why not just ONE? Two is still too much, IMO. (no pun intended)

I'd actually rather see a one song limit.
On that same note I'd also like to see a one nomination limit for the actors awards as well. The same actor getting nominated twice in the same category just seems like cheating... especially if he/she wins.

I don't really care how many songs from any one movie are nominated, but it was a little tiresom having to listen to three songs from Enchanted on the telecast of the ceremony. Perhaps there should not be a limit on the number of nominations a film can have in this category, but a one-song limit of the number of performances a single movie gets at the ceremony?

That is a hard one. Some films have a lot of goods songs, some only have 1. But then you get something where only 1 film will get all the nods for some reason when there were other great songs out too. The Cap is good, until the good songs aren't in nomination for what they deserve. It is sort of like a catch-22. They are screwed no matter what they decide to do. In the end, I don't think the cap is a good thing I guess.
