Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse

Seth Rogen 2008It looks like Seth Rogen will be starring in a comedy about the apocalypse! We get the scoop from the caves of Yahoo, located on the Isle Of Patmos!

“Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse” will be written by Rogen and his writing partner, Evan Goldberg, and will star Rogen and Jay Baruchel. The story revolves around two guys who, with the end the world unfolding and the planet invaded by monsters, are ready to kill each other after being cooped up together for too long.

The plan is to shoot the film in 2009, working within Rogen’s packed schedule. He’s currently working with Adam Sandler on Judd Apatow’s latest directorial effort, an untitled comedy, and then plans to shoot “The Green Hornet,” which he and Goldberg are now writing, early next year. That action comedy has a June 2010 release date, recently pushed back a year.

The apocalypse would make for an excellent dark comedy, and I hope that is the route they take with this project. This comedy needs to be black as space in order to reach its full potential. Doom needs to be around every corner, and every tragedy needs to be so cataclysmic, that you cannot help but laugh. By the end of the film I want the two stars to be missing 3 hands, and fighting for their lives fending off giant sewer rats.

Seth is getting lots of work while the getting is good, his cup runneth over with work and he is drinking it up!

I was just listening to the last Uncut when John(or maybe someone else) said that Sandler was trying to just keep up with the Appatow crowd. But it now seems he is joining the Appatow crowd. If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.
