Godfather Game Creators Sued by Estate of Puzo

The son of Godfather writer has sent his lawyers on a hunt for a million clams for a video game that contains elements of the Godfather

Variety Says:

Anthony Puzo of New York claims in a court filing that he represents his father’s estate and is seeking more than $1 million in damages for breach of contract.

The suit seeks damages for a game created by Electronic Arts, which was not named in the lawsuit that prominently features elements of the film.

Now the part that I just don’t get is how they can sue Electronic Arts over a game they didn’t name in the lawsuit.

Now I would presume they are talking about the 2006 release called… the Godfather, which I would wager has a fair bit to do with the movie of the same name. But they couldn’t name it in the lawsuit? So is EA’s defense going to revolve around a playful banter of “what game are you talking about?”

I tend to side with the writers on these things as they tend to get the short end of the stick when someone gets the rights to play in their sandbox and benefit financially for it. Sounds fair. I told you that you could use my story… now pay me.

Hopefully they give him an offer he can’t refuse (you know I couldn’t resist!)

Sorry to kick EA while its down, but you should have considered the game would be sold to the PUBLIC.
