TobolowskyWe have some news to share about a promising western! We get wind of Death Keeps Coming thanks to our friends at the moviehole:

‘’Deadwood’’ villain Stephen Tobolowsky – currently seen as the equally devilish Bob Bishop on TV uber-hit ”Heroes” – is set to return to the world of horse-shoes and whores for ”Death Keeps Coming”, a new Supernatural Western from Tarantino Productions and KarlAdam Entertainment.

An 1880’s Western with a supernatural twist, “Death Keeps Coming” is based on an original script by Milton, and tells of a mysterious lone gunfighter who rides out of the desert to save ’Sara’, an innocent victim of a horrific and terrifying gypsy curse. Executive Producer is Joe S.Bring, Producer is Tony Tarantino.

A mysterious gunfighter sets off to save a woman cursed by Gypsies!!!! Sign me the up! Supernatural Westerns combine lots of awesome into one package. When a man is so quick with a pistol that he can take on demons – his story needs to be told.

I really like the title for this film. It is a perfect fit for a western like this and immediately piques my interest. (It’s also a great set up for a punchline….you figure it out)

Getting Stephen Tobolowsky from Deadwood was a solid move. I have seen a few episodes of that show and will probably end up buying the DVD set. It’ s as great as TV gets, and if you have yet to see it – please watch Deadwood.

Holy crap, I read the title of the post, saw the image, and my mind instantly thought Stephen Tobolowsky had DIED!!!

Damn you for scaring me like that…

But more on topic, a supernatural western is a very interesting topic, I’ve still got a hard-on for the idea of a zombie western.

I love it when the combine the supernatural with period settings. The whole atmosphere, the isolation. Plus with a Western you can have a sardonic lead character without them being all modern and ironic.
