Common Joins Cast Of Terminator

CommonThe vocalist known by the moniker Common will be joining the cast of Terminator Salvation. We get the following scoop from our friends at comingsoon:

Rapper/actor Common (upcoming Wanted) has signed on to co-star in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins for Halcyon Pictures, reports Variety.

Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin and Moon Bloodgood have already boarded the project, which will be distributed by Warner Bros. domestically on May 22, 2009. Sony will release the film in most international markets.

I am not usually enthused about singers getting acting gigs in feature films. More often than not it’s a recipe for disaster; although at times it works out fine, and the performance surprises everyone. I saw a film called Carnal Knowledge this weekend and Art Garfunkel was fucking awesome alongside Jack Nicholson.

Lets hope Common uses Garfunkel for inspiration rather than Elvis.

International friends – what are your thoughts on the casting of Common?

In order to acclimate myself to the sounds of Common, I have included a video for us to enjoy together.

I think Common is a fantastic actor, and very excited about this news. He was great in smokin aces and one of the best perrformances in street kinfs

While I haven’t been terribly impressed by Common’s previous outings on film (American Gangster, Smokin’ Aces, Street Kings–>does this even count?), he has been keeping busy and I’m sure that is giving him an opportunity to improve his acting craft. Hopefully by the time Terminator is released he will be at the top of his acting game.

He was good in Smokin’ Aces, he certainly didn’t give anyone a reason to be pissed.

  4. Here’s the deal, I don’t give a shit if he’s a “vocalist rapper” if these gang member wannabees want to push there way into films all I can do is not support the film.
    Btw….
If your name is 85 cent or pee-did-he your a fricken retard scumbag.

I am too getting a bit tired of seeing the token rapper in films. In my mind it puts you off the quality of the film being produced and It’s just lazy casting. Also noticed in a few films that the dialogue and character can be changed to suit the rapper. Let the trained actors do the job.

i thought they werent doing this after all? well its good news that they are moving on

I hope that was a rumor about this film being Pg-13. this movie cannot be a pg-13 film. I love terminator since i was a kid it was my favorite movie. I will not watch this shit if it is pg-13. That is just saying this movie will lack in action I no some of my favorite films are pg-13 but this is bull shit and I love that Bale is in this but if i were him i would not do this shit with pg-13 or if i was common who like as an actor hes just likeable evan thought he really is not much of an actor.

  8. Yep its PG13 now what?
