“For generations, the people of the City of Ember have flourished in an amazing world of glittering lights - underground. But Ember’s once powerful generator is failing . . . and the great lamps that illuminate the city are starting to flicker. Now, two teenagers in a race against time, must search Ember for clues that will unlock the ancient mystery of the city’s existence, and help the citizens escape before the lights go out forever.”
I am surprised that I haven’t heard of this. The list of players include a gallery of completely likeable sorts that fall shy of the A List of movie celebs, but it is being produced by Tom Hanks.
Now the Tom Hanks thing still holds a lot of credit with me as he produces one of my favourite TV Shows (Big Love) and is just an all around nice guy. He has an impressive track record, and I will give anything with his name on it a shot.
Just surprised that this is the first I hear of it.
And is it just me or does that logo look like the Internet Explorer logo a bit??

Saw a test screening of this with early effects. It was actually really good. I just hope they don’t change much.
But this poster is BLEH. Doesn’t resemble the film AT ALL.

This movie is gonna suck. Sorry Tom Hanks, your great and all, but knowing Fox and the way book adaptations are being made nowadays (I still can’t forgive Fox for their version of Eragon), the movie will get somewhere between 30-40% on Rotten Tomatoes. Plus, what a crappy poster. It’s an E. Wow, it’s gonna be this year’s Eragon, yippeee! F*ck this movie, I’m seeing Potter instead.
