Wild Cherry

RobsIt looks like Rob Schneider will play a father figure in the upcoming film Wild Cherry. We get wind of this project from the professionals at Variety:

Rob Schneider, Tania Raymonde, Kristin Cavallari, Rumer Willis and Ryan Merriman will star in indie ensemble comedy “Wild Cherry” for Redwood Palms, Rampage Entertainment and Farpoint Films. Schneider will play the father of a high school senior who’s decided to lose her virginity to her boyfriend, the football’s team kicker. But when she finds out the boyfriend’s only interested in her for the sake of the team’s “bang book,” she and her best friends plan their revenge inspired by the Greek play “Lysistrata.”

I am not a big fan of Rob Schneider’s films. I do not mind him as a supporting character, but films in which he has had a leading role have never welled up excitement within me. I am not sure if this film will center on him however, it sounds like the teens will be the focus, and he will play the crazy dad.

The play Lysistrata was written in 411 BC by Aristophanes and is about women banding together blackmailing their husbands into abandoning warfare and bringing about peace in the process. The teen girls, like the Greek women in the play with no doubt withhold poontang in order to bring about change, and right wrongs that have been done. The vagina has been used as a bargaining tool since the beginning of time, and this strategy is no doubt the driving factor behind the creation of the sex robot.

I saw his picture in the post and didn’t have to read any further. The guy is shit.

I liked him in The Benchwarmers, so he is capable of doing a good job. However I’ve yet to see it in any other movie.

  3. Mr.Death says:

I hate Rob Schneider. He is a self-absorbed douchebag who is somehow under the delusion he is funny.

  4. David says:

Rob Schneider…blah blah blah….not funny. Put him in the same category with the horrible spoof movies that are coming out. Stop seeing them and maybe he’ll go away.

I’ve seen The Lysistrata performed live a couple of times. Funny stuff.

Rob Schneider’s movies aren’t the greatest or most sophisticated comedies in the world, but they usually make me laugh. But I usually do not like his cameos and minor roles as he’s not funny in them.

Or, as Gossip Girl would put it, the girls are “playing their V-card…..”

The movie comes out in April. The only reason why I’m seeing it is because a good friend of mines bands has a few songs in it. Other than that Im not a total fan of Rob but I cant wait to see how they use my friends music so we’ll see.

I was in the movie and the kart racing scene was shot at my business. It was great fun and the cast and crew were awesome. Tania was feeling sick that day but once the cameras started rolling, she sucked it up and performed like a true professional. I haven’t been able to get any word on when it’s being released in North America but I hope soon.
