Universal Acquires International Distribution Rights For This Side Of Truth

The new Ricky Gervais film This Side Of Truth has picked up International Distribution with Universal Pictures. We get wind of this news from the WEBMASTER at Film Junk:

Last week it was announced that Universal Pictures had acquired the distribution rights to the film everywhere outside of the U.S. (Warner Bros have domestic distribution already). Clearly a lot of people are anticipating big things from this movie, and with an all-star cast that includes Christopher Guest, Rob Lowe, Jennifer Garner, Jonah Hill, Tina Fey and Jeffrey Tambor, I don’t blame them. The movie involves an imaginary world where no one has ever lied before, and the story of one man who just can’t help himself.

No need to fear international friends, this film is now destined to circle the globe. I think this is a funny premise for a movie and am very excited with the cast they have assembled. I like the uncomfortable comedy stylings of Ricky Gervais and look forward to this picture.

The last time I posted about this film I was surprised how many detractors Gervais had, especially from the UK. He is certainly not everyones cup of tea and I can appreciate that. He certainly seems to polarize people, you either love him or hate him. No one seems to think he’s just “alright”.
