You would figure since the cast is undoubtly gonna be huge, that an X-Men 4 would've been a more sensible choice to have these characters shown. It'll be interesting to see how this film turns out by next year. However, I think speak for a lot of people when I say, that Wolverine was show cased enough in all three X-Men films. After seeing the Van Damme film, I thought I'd see Scott Adkins again in another action film. The Weapon 11 character was indeed announced awhile ago, just not on who played him. However, this sounds more like a "thug" role to me. Kind of like the "Spike" character in X-Men Last stand. Y'know? This is good news to me. This bit of news doesn't make the character list any bigger then it was before, all it's doing is now filling some actors into some of the roles that were previously announced.
